Conor McGregor is not only a World Champion in combat sports, but an entrepreneur as well. The former ‘Champ-Champ’ has always been a shrewd businessman inside, as well as outside the octagon. Apart from being the highest-paid UFC fighter, ‘The Notorious’ also has his whiskey brand, Proper Twelve.
The UFC lightweight contender held a Twitter Q&A for his followers with the hashtag, ‘AskNotorious’. Here, McGregor went on to answer a few intriguing fan questions to the best of his ability.

A Twitter user asked Conor if we would his Whiskey brand, Proper twelve would be available in India. McGregor replied, “Thank you Sir. India has seen double-digit growth in whiskey sales these past few years, and we are most certainly working on India for our future, yes. And of course, I’ll be there! India.”

McGregor is arguably the biggest star the UFC has ever seen. He holds numerous pay-per-view records in the company on his way to becoming a two-division world champion. With his star power at an all-time high, ‘The Notorious‘ one looked to diversify his portfolio.
McGregor, who has always attributed timing as key to his fighting style, chose the optimum time to announce his whiskey brand. In August 2017, in the post-press conference of Mayweather-McGregor, Conor took to the podium and announced, “Notorious Irish Whiskey: Coming soon.”
In just the first year alone, Proper Twelve reportedly generated over a billion dollars in revenue. In 2019, McGregor took to social media, “Over $1b generated in Whiskey sales in my first year! Like it or not, there is a new King in town! Proper Whiskey, liquid sunshine!”
McGregor plans to overtake Jameson
The two-division world champion does seem to have a Midas touch as everything he touches turns to gold. With US whiskey sales at an all-time high, Conor is looking to take Proper Twelve to the top of the spectrum.

Jameson remains the top Irish Whiskey brand in the US, but McGregor’s whiskey brand has contributed to about four percent of total whiskey sales in the US, in just its first year of production.
Conor would now look to enter the Indian market as well. With an already loyal fan base of McGregor’s fans in India, he looks set to break into a market with a massive population.
