These include big names such as Conor McGregor, Ryan Reynolds, and George Clooney, to name a few. Their businesses have been growing drastically and have attracted a lot of eyes. We will be comparing the liquor brands of three celebrities – Conor McGregor‘s “Proper 12,” Ryan Reynolds’ “Aviator Gin,” and George Clooney’s “Casamigos Tequila.” These three brands have been talked about the most in the past few years and enjoyed tremendous success.
Conor McGregor – Proper 12
Conor McGregor is arguably the biggest athlete in UFC history. He used his multi-million following to start his own whiskey brand. The Irishman has always been passionate about his country and ensured that the Whiskey brand was based in Ireland. Thus, “Proper 12” Irish whiskey was born in 2018.

The whiskey brand has found a lot of early success. According to the Irish Times, the company gained over $1 billion in sales in the US, which accounts for a 12 percent increase in sales from year to year. In 2021, McGregor reportedly sold majority of his stake in the company to “Proximo Spirits” for a whopping $600 million deal.
Ryan Reynolds – Aviator Gin
Ryan Reynolds is a famous Canadian Hollywood actor and producer. Unlike McGregor, Reynolds wasn’t the founder of this brand, but bought it after showing his interest in it. The brand started in 2006, and Reynolds bought the company in 2018, making him a co-owner.

In 2020, with only a little over 2 years of co-owning the brand, Reynolds sold the brand to British spirits giant Diageo for a $610 million deal. This included an initial payment of $335 million and an additional $275 million, which would be given based on the brand’s performance over the next decade.

George Clooney – Casamigos Tequilla
George Clooney is a popular actor and filmmaker. He started his own tequila brand along with his friend Rande Gerber. This started off as an idea when the two friends were in Mexico. In 2013, they finally decided to pull the trigger, and “Casamigos” was born.

In June 2017, Clooney sold the company to Diageo for a massive $1 billion deal. This included an initial payment of $700 million and a potential $300 million based on the company’s performance over the next decade.
Considering all these facts, we can conclude that Clooney’s “Casamigos” brand was the most successful out of the three. This is closely followed by Reynolds’ “Aviator Gin,” and McGregor’s “Proper 12” Irish Whiskey. It is to be kept in mind that these ranks are based on the amount of money each of these were sold for.
