If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s the fact that Conor McGregor does not like Jake Paul. At all. After all, ever since his celebrity boxing career started, ‘The Problem Child’ has been chasing ‘The Notorious’ for a fight. Paul went as far as dissing McGregor’s partner, Dee Devlin, along with the periodic tweets trashing the Irishman over whatever controversy he got into, which has definitely not put the younger Paul brother in the good books of the former two-weight UFC champion.
This is why the UFC superstar is absolutely tickled to see fresh legal issues with regard to ‘The Problem Child’. Jake Paul is being sued by the Eddie Hearn-led Matchroom Boxing promotion for a claim made by ‘El Gallo’ that the English promoter had bribed one of the judges at the Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor 2 clash last month.
Paul had counter-sued the promotion, claiming they were trying to stifle his freedom of speech. In addition, the celebrity boxer had filed a motion in a New York court to have Matchroom Boxing’s defamation suit thrown out. However, the judge has denied this and the suit will proceed as originally planned, giving Paul a huge and possibly financially ruining headache.

And Conor McGregor cannot help but laugh at Paul’s misfortune.“😂,” McGregor wrote in a now-deleted tweet, which was a reply to a news story reporting on Paul’s motion being thrown out in court.

One would think McGregor wouldn’t take such pleasure in someone getting into a hairy lawsuit with his own recent civil lawsuit that he lost in the Dublin High Court, and that may be why he chose to delete the tweet. Or it may be because he is getting ready to fight Logan Paul and doesn’t want to laugh at his brother’s misfortune when they might do business together soon.
Who is Conor McGregor fighting next – Jake or Logan Paul?
Conor McGregor shocked the combat sports world by announcing earlier this month that he had reached a ‘preliminary agreement’ to fight Logan Paul, Jake’s older brother in a boxing exhibition in India next year. ‘Mystic Mac’, of course, hasn’t fought since snapping his tibia clean three years ago.

However, it seems his UFC return will have to be put on the sideline for now because of his supposed exhibition boxing match in India. He might not make his UFC return at least till the second half of 2025. But, in another twist, there have been more reports since then suggesting Jake, not Logan, maybe McGregor’s next opponent. And that would make perfect sense. After all, Jake is just coming off of fighting Mike Tyson and will certainly make McGregor more money than a fight with Logan.
On the other hand, the UFC may veto McGregor fighting Jake since Dana White personally hates him. Logan, on the other hand, is signed to the WWE, which is owned by TKO Holdings – the same parent company that owns the UFC. In addition, the Paul-endorsed beverage brand ‘Prime’ is a UFC sponsor, and White has an amicable relationship with Logan. But things are still developing at the moment, and nothing can be said for certain, except that Conor McGregor is happy to see Jake Paul in potential legal trouble of massive proportions. What do you think about Conor McGregor’s reaction to Jake Paul’s $100 million legal trouble?
