Following his recent legal troubles, Conor McGregor has faced quite a bit of backlash from the fighting community. After all, the allegations against him were enough to put him in great controversy. But the Irishman isn’t one of those who go down easily. He turned the tide of emotions and brought in nothing but joy as the Christmas spirits began to rise. And bringing in Santa Claus was the one thing that he needed to do in order to receive commendations from the community.

McGregor ensured that the children at Crumlin Boxing Club had a lively interaction with Santa Claus. Well, the kids didn’t back away from telling Santa what they wanted for Christmas. That was followed by a visit to The Black Forge, which was decorated in golden lights with the words ‘Merry Christmas’ spreading the holiday joy in the neighborhood.

Taking to X, the ‘Mystic Mac’ shared visuals of the early Christmas celebrations and wrote, “Santa Claus is comin’ to town!” Santa visit to our special needs classes at Crumlin Boxing Club with Cllr Sutcliffe in attendance to ring the bell! Good fun for all! Followed then by a special visit to the Black Forge for lunch and a few pints. Thank you Santa Claus! Happy Christmas to you and yours and next year with a rise of the phoenix! Stay safe, stay focused.”

Soon after the post went live on X, a former member of the Crumlin Boxing Club named Timothy Dineen dropped to the comments section and expressed his jolly feelings about it all. He wrote, “IT WAS A GREAT DAY. ARRIVED FROM CORK CITY. BREAKFAST AT THE BLACK FORGE INN WITH MY SON PETER “THE ROCK ” MY HEAD ELF. A VISIT TO MY OLD BOXING CLUB TO VISIT MY OLD COACHES PHIL SUTCLIFFE AND PADDY BRA BRADY.  AND THE HIGH FIVE ADDITIONAL NEEDS CLASS AND YOUNG BOXERS WERE HAPPY.” Pleased with the heartfelt comment, ‘The Notorious’ left a praying emoji as a reply.

Conor McGregor has often given back to the community on Christmas. Back in 2019, the former UFC double champion and his long-time sweetheart donated toys worth more than $26,308 in Smyth’s Toys vouchers. But this year, the Dubliner has the gift of an epic comeback for the fight fans.

Will Conor McGregor really return in 2025?

What’s your perspective on:

Can McGregor's Christmas spirit overshadow his controversies and reignite his UFC career in 2025?

Have an interesting take?

McGregor’s return to the Octagon is something that the entire fighting community has been forward to. The Irishman excited the fans to a great extent for UFC 303. However, a broken pinky toe forced him to pull out of the match against Michael Chandler. And now, Dana White has announced that McGregor would make a comeback sometime in late 2025. But the question is when.

Even ‘The Notorious’ seemed oblivious to it. Nevertheless, the Irish fighter hasn’t stopped training. In one of his tweets, he wrote, “Training is going great out here guys, hoping for some good news to break, God willing! Thank you for the support.” He revealed that there was a time when he would open up the gym early for John Kavanagh and Lee Hammond would show up along with his friend. McGregor would spar with the two of them for hours. And the ritual still goes on.

His return would indeed be the perfect present McGregor could give to his fans, don’t you think? But with Chandler left to recover following his battle against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309, McGregor would have to wait for his turn. With the UFC head honcho’s assurance of his return, all we need to do is wait for the ‘Mystic Mac’ to clear his name from his legal troubles and get a date to fight.
