Fans were worried when a scheduled press conference for the UFC 303 card headlined by Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler was postponed abruptly by the UFC. This gave rise to many theories on part of the fans but the UFC has been silent on the reason behind the postponement. These theories ranged from McGregor was too hung-up to show up, to he had suffered an injury, or gotten into legal trouble.

However, Conor McGregor has come out with a statement to assure fans. In a tweet posted moments ago, the Irishman apologized to the fans and said that the UFC called off the press conference due to reasons out of their control. He also reiterated that he was looking forward to his comeback bout against Chandler on June 29.

“In consultation with the UFC, todays press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control. I apologize to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support. I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the Octagon,” he wrote.

While the Irishman has purportedly addressed the cancellation, he has skirted around the most important and pertinent question: what was the reason that the press conference was called off in the first place? Was it something to do with the venue, was there some sort of technical issue, was the stage not set right, or an issue like that? Or, does it have to do with McGregor? Well, that remains as of yet unknown. Chandler has not said anything either, and neither has the UFC.

Dan Hardy thinks Conor McGregor shoo-in to win at UFC 303

Conor McGregor is seemingly facing an uphill task against Michael Chandler. Coming off of a very serious injury (which kept him out of action for three years), and on a generally downward slope professionally, many are skeptical of the Irishman’s chances at UFC 303.

However, UFC veteran and keen-eyed analyst Dan Hardy is absolutely sure that ‘Mac’ would win, and do it in style. The reasons Hardy gave for his prediction were twofold. One, the former UFC welterweight, was convinced that Chandler would be at least a fair bit overwhelmed by the electric and unreal atmosphere of a McGregor fight.

The second, and most important reason Hardy felt McGregor had his UFC 303 main event clash in the bag was because Chandler is “not very strategic in the way that he fights these days” since “he’s there for a scrap” and felt that ‘Mac’s “ability to manage distance and control range” would ultimately prove too much for ‘Iron.’ What are your predictions for UFC 303?
