Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor is arguably the most entertaining fighter to step into the octagon. The Irishman had a meteoric rise in the promotion and won two different weight-class belts, earning double champion status. In an interview with GQ, McGregor threw shade at rival Nate Diaz.

Conor McGregor sat down with GQ in 2017 to talk about a cluster of topics, including the Kardashians, fighting Mayweather, and getting paid by the UFC. In one segment, he opens up about why he is so skillful, even taking shots at Diaz.

McGregor said, “No one’s work is clean like my work. My shots are clean. My shots are precise. Look at Nate. Nate was 200 pounds. When I hit him down, it was exactly like if a sniper took aim at someone in between their eyeballs and let the thing rip. The way he dropped, it was like a sack of sh*t. So that’s a power I have.”

The Beef Between Conor McGregor and Diaz

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have created one of the greatest and most entertaining rivalries in the entire promotion. The two fighters have never shied away from expressing themselves and have openly taken shots at each other throughout the years.

This rivalry started back in 2015 when Diaz called out McGregor after a win against Michael Johnson. The following year, he would find his wish come true as he replaced Rafael dos Anjos in the main event for UFC 196 and faced off against McGregor.

This fight shocked the world as Diaz, the underdog in the fight, submitted McGregor in the second round via rear-naked choke. Diaz gained a lot of attention and respect after this fight. The two would continue making disrespectful remarks about each other and faced off for a second time, just a few months after the first bout.

The second fight took place as the main event for UFC 202. This fight was extremely close as the two went blow for blow. McGregor won the bout via majority decision (47-48, 47-47, 47-48).
