UFC star Conor McGregor will dive deeper into the injury that threatened to end his career and the subsequent overcoming of the fear that tagged him. Notably, the Irishman shared the visuals of his upcoming 4-part Netflix documentary ‘McGregor Forever’ that premiers on May 17 and details his rehabilitation from the injury.

‘Notorious’ endured a horrific injury towards the end of round 1 of his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. The injury not only snapped his leg but left him agonized, unlike the gallant reputation he had built for himself. In addition, the possibility of him never gracing the Octagon also crippled him. However, the 34-year-old fighter, due to his iron will, grit, and determination, overcame the difficult phase that almost led him to believe “it was over”.

McGregor penned, “You heard it here first. My brand new documentary series McGregor Forever, is coming to @Netflix on May 17! The only place to hear my true story, which is just getting started!”

In the teaser, the MMA fighter, while still in hospital after the surgery, disclosed he believed his career was over post-injury. These comments stood in sharp contrast to his previous ones in the post-fight with UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

He thus said, “I thought it was over as well. That’s why I flipped into a different mode. It was the adrenaline as well and I know I would have came down. But part of me was thinking, Jesus, imagine it was taken from me like that. I would be a different person and it was a bit scary, to be honest with you.”

“But it’s McGregor forever. That’s it. It’s done. It’s McGregor forever and don’t you forget it,” he added in the closing seconds of the clip.

Conor McGregor’s road to recovery took long, but he didn’t quit. The fans long to witness the prolific fighter in action since his last fight.
