Conor McGregor has swooped in once again with his verdict on the new UFC gloves. Yes, the same gear that Dana White unveiled following the UFC 300 press conference. After the Irish mixed martial artist asked the UFC CEO for the 12th pair of gloves, he has now come up with new information.

Ahead of his fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 303, the Irishman appeared in a live stream for Duelbits. Therein, McGregor played cards and won quite a bit of cash. However, he also made some revelations from the UFC world as he began his rant. One such topic was, of course, about the new UFC glove.

The Irish fighter on his live stream with Duelbits, interacted with the fight fans who were popping questions in the chat. One such question was whether McGregor had tried on the new UFC gloves. The MMA star replied, “Yes, I’ve tried the new gloves. I got them straight away to the place.”

However, the shocker came after that. McGregor has now claimed that the new UFC gloves weigh only 3 ounces. The standard gloves that the fighters use in the UFC weigh about 4 ounces. The new ones, being lighter, will, in fact, help the contenders to get faster in their movements. McGregor quoted, “Would you believe, the new gloves are 3 ounce. So, MMA gloves are traditionally 4 ounces. So, the weight of the glove is 4 ounce. These new gloves are 3 ounce. As I punch ya, that’s music to my ears. So, I’ve been training with the new gloves.” 

Without a doubt, the new gloves have generated quite the craze amongst the fight fans. The fight promotion has disclosed that it would be using separate gloves for each of the events. Fighters in Dana White Contender Series will wear the DWCS gloves, those in The Ultimate Fighter will have the TUF gloves. No fighter will have the chance to wear the gunmetal UFC glove until they’ve begun their journey in the UFC. As for the championship fights, the contenders will wear premium golden gloves with subtle Octagon patterns printed on them.

Details about the new UFC gear were given out in an explainer video that was released right after the events of UFC 300. As soon as McGregor saw the video footage on X, he hopped on to the comments section and wrote, “Incredible! What a time to be alive!” But wasn’t the end of it. 

Previously, as he saw the gloves, he asked the UFC CEO for the 12th pair. Currently, the gloves are limited, with only 25 pairs in the world. These limited gloves are being shipped away to White’s friends and family, including Conor McGregor.
