Jake Paul, now riding high after extending his winning streak with a victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson in an eight-round bout this week in Texas, has once again set his sights on his arch-nemesis, UFC President Dana White. Paul has long been critical of White due to disagreements over fighter pay and is now calling out Conor McGregor for a potential “Red Pan** Night” bout.
However, Paul’s aspirations face two significant hurdles: McGregor’s ongoing two-fight UFC contract and his pending obligations under it. Once these hurdles are cleared, McGregor would be free to consider a matchup with Paul. Meanwhile, ‘The Problem Child’ took to social media to criticize the UFC head honcho and demanded Conor McGregor’s release, sparking widespread conversation online.
“Dana White has been a boxing promoter his whole career,” Jake Paul wrote on X. “All these fanboys need to do their research. His TV show failed. He couldn’t sell 4,000 tickets in Dublin with that useless Irish boxer he’s promoting. And he is not fighters-first—he’s Dana-first. He builds you up, then tears you down. Now Conor McGregor is a hostage. Free Conor.”

Earlier this year on St. Patrick’s Day, former UFC star Nate Diaz voiced a similar sentiment, taking to Instagram to hint at a potential trilogy fight with McGregor. Diaz, who claimed to have experienced similar treatment from Dana White and the UFC, reignited interest in their legendary rivalry—one of the most iconic in MMA history.
For Conor McGregor, 2024 marks three years since his last fight in the octagon. While he had secured a bout against Michael Chandler for UFC 303, a toe injury derailed those plans, leaving the fight without a date or opponent. Now, McGregor remains a hot commodity, with interest from both UFC and the boxing world. No one wants to miss the chance to capitalize on his star power, making his next move highly anticipated.

Dana White announces Conor McGregor’s return timeline to the UFC
Conor McGregor is not returning to the octagon anytime soon, especially not before early 2025. Despite being the biggest name in the world of MMA, McGregor has faced significant challenges in securing a fight as of late. His recent bout against Michael Chandler fell through, leaving Chandler with no opportunity to move forward in his career, despite wasting 18 months of his life at the age of 37.
Although McGregor recently called out Dan Hooker for a fight in Saudi Arabia on February 1, Dana White doesn’t believe the fight will happen anytime soon. Speaking at the UFC 309 pre-fight press conference, White provided a potential timeline for McGregor’s return, saying, “Conor is going to come back in late 2025, so there is a lot of time for us to work out who is going to fight Conor. There is no doubt Conor wants to fight, he hits me up all the time. I told you guys he probably wasn’t going to fight in 2024 and he didn’t. He’s going to fight in 2025, probably at the end of the year. If it is earlier, that is good for all of us.”
Despite this news, Michael Chandler is still eager to face McGregor whenever he returns. He echoed that same sentiment when he once again made a charged-up call-out during the post-fight interview at UFC 309. So, it is safe to say that the Dubliner will have no issue in securing a dancing partner once he makes up his mind.
