The MMA community suffered a massive blow, more than they could have comprehended in just two days. Two of the most anticipated clashes have been sabotaged by the fighters themselves. The most anticipated of them all, Conor McGregor‘s comeback to the fighting world has been called off as the former dual-weight champion seems to have suffered an injury on the same leg which was broken during his clash against Dustin Poirier back in 2021.
In the wake of the cancellation of the event, Dana White had to clinch in Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira to save the UFC 303 card. Regardless, what exactly happened to McGregor? Did he break his shin again, or is there any hidden agenda behind it? Well, Michael Bisping seems to have the answers to our questions. Let us get to it.

The MMA community was sure that the UFC was just playing games after they canceled the press conference back on June 3rd. The entire MMA community was shocked by the incident. MMA pundits including Ariel Helwani and Daniel Cormier raised their doubts regarding the match. Helwani even stated that pessimism is increasing day by day and seems like all of them were right in their analogy. Conor McGregor is out of UFC 303! But why?
Well, according to Michael Bisping, Conor McGregor suffered an injury on the same shin which was broken in a clash with Poirier. The former middleweight champion and UFC insider proclaimed that he had a conversation with McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh and he said that the titanium bone which McGregor uses for his shin seems to have failed him. “[John] told me on no uncertain terms… [Conor] is injured, he’s hurt himself. His leg, the leg that he broke snapped against Dustin Poirier. The titanium shin bone has failed.”
Interestingly, just days ago we witnessed a photo of Conor McGregor with fans and upon zooming in on his injured leg we could see that there’s some inflammation. He was also wearing wearing compression socks. Some MMA accounts reposted this image and speculated that McGregor might be going through a blood clot issue, possibly phlebitis or vein thrombosis, however, nothing has been made sure as of now.
