Will it rather be the comeback of the decade for Conor McGregor or will it be a sham? The former dual-weight champion is all ready to face the formidable Michael Chandler after months of anticipation. Their clash is supposed to ensue on UFC 303 on June 28th. Nonetheless, everything is set for McGregor to fight Chandler, however, is he really ready to make a comeback after his career-ending injury?

The last time McGregor stepped into the Octagon, he suffered an injury at the hands of Dustin Poirier that had the potential to end his career once and for all. Poirier broke ‘Mystic Mac’s shin back in 2021 which resulted in a prolonged gap, but is he ready? Well according to coach, John Kavanagh, he is more than ready.

Conor McGregor’s comeback has the potential to reshape the entire MMA as their clash is supposed to happen in the welterweight division, but Dana White and team are proposing the making of two new divisions in UFC and McGregor has the opportunity to capitalize on it. Nonetheless, there were some doubts that McGregor might not have recovered from his injury even after three years but according to Coach, John Kavanagh the rumors as baseless.

We have witnessed several videos of McGregor’s training sessions; there were hardly any signs of weakness or struggle in them. There is enough proof that ‘Notorious’ is ready and locked and loaded for his next outing. In a conversation with his Coach, John Kavanagh, he explained that McGregor is just getting started with his endeavor. “He’s looking super sleek out there. There are fighters who, when they’re not fighting and after a while, it’s difficult to explain to somebody, a lot of guys watching this that are 15, pro fighting, it starts becoming a job.” said the coach.

He further added that McGregor’s passion for the sport helped him tremendously in his journey to improve himself. “The passion and my love of this, it’s a job and it’s hard to keep the level of intensity, even if it’s not physical, the level of mental intensity of always thinking about training, always thinking about sequences, always thinking about techniques. That’s something Connor’s had naturally his whole career.”

Conor McGregor’s condition might look better as of now but the coach is looking to take no chances. “Of course, we’ve got to get the rounds in and get the conditioning up so it’s to be ready for competition, but his technique is as sharp as ever.” McGregor’s injury forced him to have a titanium rod in his leg but did it make it worse for him to have the same level of intensity? Perhaps not.

McGregor has a new arsenal for Chandler

The injury might have forced Conor McGregor to abandon the Octagon for three long years but seems like there’s a new weapon that McGregor has that is yet to be used by the former dual-weight champion. It is his titanium shin! According to ‘Mystic Mac’, his metal shin has just made his mobility much better than before and he is starting to feel like ‘Terminator’

“I am Terminator now. I have a titanium rod that goes into the knee and down to the bone, right down to my ankle. It’s unbreakable… I wish for and I will work for landing this kick with this steel bar in my leg against an opponent and getting them out of there. I want to see a picture of myself in the octagon with my leg broken, and then I want to see a picture of myself in the octagon with my leg wrapped around my opponent’s neck or head and putting him out and side by side,” said McGregor.
