A post by Conor McGregor owned ‘The Maclife’ showed that McGregor had broken records in everything he has tried his hand at, including his Hollywood career where he has managed to surpass even Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in one aspect.
‘Notorious’ has had the most extraordinary career of any mixed martial artist in the history of the sport. A concurrent two-division champion in two separate promotions (Cage Warriors and the UFC), he became the most popular MMA fighter ever off of his raw charisma, excellent mic skills and exciting fighting style.
And with fame and popularity came money, with the Irishman becoming the highest paid MMA fighter of all time and was able to leverage this popularity to start various successful business ventures, including a whiskey business which made him a multi-millionaire.
At the height of McGregor mania, he fought boxing icon Floyd Mayweather in a cross-over mega fight, which reportedly netted him around $100 million, officially making him the highest paid boxing debutante. And now, the Irishman has another distinction to his name.

Conor McGregor claimed that he has become the highest paid first-time actor for ‘Road House’ after reportedly making somewhere between 6-10 million pounds, beating ‘The Rock’s 2001 record for ‘The Mummy Returns’ at 5.5 million. McGregor simply reacted, “Worth it”. And as speculations rise that McGregor may retire from fighting to try his hand at full-time acting, his co-star and now friend Jake Gyllenhaal spoke highly about the Irishman despite this being his first film.

Ahead of the release of their film, Gyllenhaal and McGregor have heaped praise on each other, with the ‘Nightcrawler’ actor saying that he was impressed by the Irishman’s humble and studious approach towards acting, which prompted him to take a similar attitude to fighting.
He felt that the Irishman was perfectly cast for the role and said that while he was grateful and humbled to work with the former UFC champion, he was equally “terrified”, perhaps owing to McGregor’s unpredictability and inexperience with choreographed fight scenes.

“Conor is a legend, and I was grateful and humbled to work with him and do fight scenes with him…and also equally terrified. We needed a character who you really felt could beat Dalton, and we got that in Conor’s performance as Knox,” Gyllenhaal said. McGregor complimented the Oscar-nominated actor for his professionalism and felt that he had made a friend for life in Gyllenhaal.
