Get ready to witness a massive showdown at BKFC 70, as Leonardo ‘El Zambo’ Perdomo, the fighter that people recognize as the ‘Cuban Mike Tyson,’ makes his return for his 7th fight. And when Conor McGregor joined the conversation, things became a bit more interesting. What did ‘The Notorious’ have to say? Well, it did have something to do with a higher paycheck and more popularity.

You read that right! The former UFC double champion wanted ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ to be present as Perdomo fights Steve Herelius at BKFC 70, on March 27, 2025. In an Instagram Story, McGregor linked back to a post where David Feldman and ‘El Zambo’ signed a new deal. Perdomo was seen holding a huge stash of cash and claimed that he was in the BKFC for more money now. He demanded, “‘El Zambo’ now in the BKFC for more money.” As per records, he received $30K for his previous fights. This meant he was on a financial rise. And Feldman said, “We just signed the Cuban Mike Tyson. Let’s go. Let’s see what he has. The Cuban Mike Tyson.” McGregor, on his IG Story, granted Perdomo his wish and wrote, “BAD MEN, GOOD HEARTS.”

On top of that, McGregor wanted to bring in the real Mike Tyson to watch the show. In the comments section of the IG post, he wrote, “CUBA’S HEAVYWEIGHT SENSATION “el zambo”! [Mike Tyson], we want you in Hollywood Florida to watch our @bareknucklefc event live at the HardRock Hotel! EL ZAMBO IN ACTION AND MORE! 🔥” Needless to say, Perdomo was pretty excited to have Tyson watch his bout. Replying to ‘The Notorious’, ‘El Zambo’ commented, “an honor to be able to fight in the presence of [Mike Tyson].” After all, this might push Perdomo’s salary further up, right?

Well, we don’t really know how the legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is going to respond to that. But we do know that Feldman and Conor McGregor have become humongous fans of the Cuban Mike Tyson. Let’s see what the BKFC bosses had to say about Perdomo, shall we?

David Feldman and Conor McGregor lift Leonardo Perdomo up high

Well, Perdomo deserves all the hype he can get. He has fought 6 fights in the bare-knuckle fighting promotion and won all 6 fights via knockouts. And the shocker? The finishers came within the first round in all of those fights. As per WBN, Feldman said, “Half of the battle right away if the guy is scared of you. And everyone was scared of Mike Tyson. If he ever took the gloves off, and hit you with a bare knuckle, I think he would have done unbelievable in this sport. I do think he would have done it. And I think he would have been one of the best in the world in it. In Leonardo Perdom0 we have a guy we’re grooming as the next Mike Tyson because he’s already 6-0 with six first-round knockouts.”

On the other hand, ‘The Notorious’ often hyped up Perdomo’s fights. Last time when he fought Levi Costa at BKFC on DAZN Hollywood, McGregor was left flabbergasted as he tried to promote the fight. Even the Red Carpet host Shea Filling claimed that ‘El Zambo’ was a sensational fighter. And we can certainly expect the Cuban Mike Tyson to stand up to the hype and knock his opponent out in the first round’s first minute at BKFC 70.

What’s your perspective on:

Can 'El Zambo' live up to the 'Cuban Mike Tyson' hype with another first-round knockout?
