Ilia Topuria‘s verbal onslaught seems to have reached a point where it’s starting to annoy Max Holloway. With just a couple of days to go for the title clash, the Hawaiian star recently unloaded on the whole persona that the Georgian-Spaniard seems to have cultivated for the public, as ‘Blessed’ claims that the featherweight champion is nothing more than just trying to replicate you know who, Conor McGregor.
‘EL Matador’ is more than confident about his chances of winning this weekend against the decorated Max Holloway. He challenged the former featherweight and current BMF champion to an early throw-down during the first 10 seconds of the main event clash in Abu Dhabi.
This time Ilia Topuria vowed to point the finger on the mat. As expected, ‘Blessed’ clapped back, claiming that from head to toe, the Georgian-Spanish star just screams “copycat.”

“You know the guy. He’s a copycat. This guy’s a copycat. Down to the tattoos, his aura to the way he approaches fights,” Max Holloway stated during the UFC 308 media day. “At the end of the day, you’ve got to earn that moment… he’s just trying to steal stuff. He’s already trying to steal one person’s aura. Now, he’s trying to steal somebody else’s thing [his finger-pointing motion]. So, it’s amazing.”

Even fans have pointed out the same things that the former featherweight champion had to say. When it comes to tattoos, Ilia Topuria has a strikingly similar chest tattoo to that of Conor McGregor. What is even more similar is Topuria’s back tattoo. And guess what? Even Conor McGregor didn’t spare him for supposedly ‘copying’ him, either.

Conor McGregor slammed Ilia Topuria for cheap imitation
Conor McGregor recently went live once again in a stream by Duelbits. Just like he laid the verbal smackdown on many fighters in his last livestream, this one was no different, but the featherweight champion bore the brunt of the trash talk. Having mentioned that he’s aware of the copying antics, the Irishman would get asked by a viewer about how he would beat Ilia Topuria if he ever faced the Georgian-Spaniard. In true ‘Notorious’ fashion, McGregor went ballistic on ‘El Matador’ while revealing his fight tactics against him.
“How do you think you’d beat Ilia Topuria? I’d grab him by the scruff of the chest and slap the little nose off of him. Little ding dong of a thing he is. I’m in Marbella at the Bare Knuckle, we’ll see what’s what. You little fool, I’ll cave ya head in. Ya little short…tick, I’ll box your jaw in on sight,” said Conor McGregor. Could this be the start of a new rivalry?
