The world of mixed martial has never seen a star like Conor McGregor. The Irish superstar has transcended the combat sports genre and has come as one of the kind stars. No other mixed martial artist has managed to rake up such a net worth by also competing outside the sport. It seems highly unlikely that it will ever happen again at this modern-day stage.

Conor McGregor dubs himself as the undisputed king of sporting world
In his latest Instagram story, McGregor once again reiterated how important he is to the sporting world. The UFC star used Forbes’ list of the richest athletes in 2021, which placed him at the top ahead of every major sporting superstar around the world.

The mixed martial artist stood out leagues and miles ahead of his competition, at $180 million in earnings. He managed to earn $22 million inside the octagon and roped in another $158 mill from outside means.
He drew a direct comparison with icons like Roger Federer, LeBron James, Tom Brady, Kevin Durant & Cristiano Ronaldo. None of these athletes were able to stack to the UFC star, and the facts highlighted it once more.

When will ‘The Notorious’ one make his UFC comeback?
Conor is gearing up to make his return in 2022, as he is currently rebounding from a terrible leg injury sustained at UFC 264 last year. Ever since, the Irish mixed martial artist has been away from the octagon and from the usual training as well. This often puts a massive burden on fighters, as they are unable to train and enhance their skill set as their peers continue to evolve.

In a recent update, McGregor stated that soon he will be able to spar once again. If that happens, then his next fight announcement isn’t far.

He said, “Very good. It’s getting there day by day. Day by day, I feel better. They are telling me to just take it easy and you know, but I feel I can go. I just need to kind of, you know, pull the reins back on my own self. So, that’s kind of what I am doing.”
“April, they said I can spar again… And I can box again, basically. So, I’m just gonna take it day by day.”
