Conor McGregor raised his voice against the Irish government during his visit to the Oval Office on St. Patrick’s Day. And the blame was all on the illegal immigration racket. Meeting Donald Trump and Elon Musk seemed like the perfect moment for ‘The Notorious’ to make his stance known in the race for the Irish Presidency. He warned the people of Ireland that “Ireland is at the cusp of potentially losing its Irishness.” Needless to say, these comments weren’t well accepted by Michael Martin, the Prime Minister of Ireland. And yet, amid all the political quips, McGregor couldn’t stop himself from flaunting his wealth.
Around 3-4 days before ‘The Notorious’ stepped into Washington DC, Martin had a meeting with Trump in the Oval Office. There came a moment during that meeting when a reporter asked Trump about his favorite Irish person. And the POTUS named the former UFC double champion. No doubt, it must have been an awkward moment for the Taoiseach. And now, after McGregor ranted on Irish problems, Martin took to X and clapped back at ‘Mystic Mac’. He wrote, “St. Patrick’s Day around the world is a day rooted in community, humanity, friendship and fellowship. Conor McGregor’s remarks are wrong, and do not reflect the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, or the views of the people of Ireland.”
And as Martin’s tweet made its rounds on the internet, McGregor had a wholesome interaction with Trump. Of course, getting to meet the POTUS necessitated a certain dressing sense. And that gave ‘The Notorious’ the perfect opportunity to flaunt his wealth like he often does. For the occasion, he wore the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph on 18K yellow gold. The dial had a green hue with the reference number 116508 on it. It’s what the people call ‘money dial’. However, this particular model was discontinued about a year ago. And currently, the watch is estimated to be valued at a whopping $65,000.

Did you know Conor McGregor used to wear fake watches?
It sure does come as a shock when we talk about one of the wealthiest mixed martial artists wearing a fake watch. But there was a time when the former UFC star had to go through financial troubles. And it was, of course, a time before he made it big in the Octagon. Reflecting on that time, and his recent collection of watches in a segment for GQ Sports in February 2024, the former UFC double champion revealed the truth about his timeless accessories.
He said, “I’ve got many great watches. This one in particular is very special because it comes from an Irish jeweler named Weir and Sons, which is one of the most known jewelers in Ireland. And this watch is a Patek Philippe, which is a very exclusive watchmaker. They made this watch specifically for Weird and Sons jewelers in Ireland. And it’s got the Irish colors. There’s only 25 of them made. And you know I had to get it. You ever hear this, this term, you got to fake it till you make it? Before anything, I was getting the fake ones. I was rocking the fake ones like this, but proud.”
