Conor M͏cGregor͏ won’t cut the line!
And Belal Muhammad will ensure this. Shavkat Rak͏hmon͏ov and Kamaru Usman are already bickering over who gets the next title shot. So McGregor, suddenly cutting in for a welterweight title shot, just won’t work.
There have been rumors that ‘The Notorious’ might return and fight for the WW belt. But with two back-to-back losses on his record, his dream might be further than he thinks and B͏ela͏l Muhammad͏ reiterated this.
“I don’t think he’ll look good at 170. Dud doesn’t look good in life right now. He looks like he is co–d out, looks like he is on dr–s. I mean if he beats Michael Chandler, I wouldn’t even let him skip the line. Because like I said, there are guys that work for it. There are guys that got here…,” the champion shared on Submission Radio. But where did the whole discussion about ‘The Notorious’ in welterweight start from?

Well, the culprit is Leon Edw͏ard͏s. When he was the champion, his coach asserted that he was interested in a fight against the Irishman. Let us not forget how McGregor dabbled in the heavier weight class and found some success, too. But would that be enough for him to get a title shot? Well, things would have worked in favor of the Dubliner if Edwards had been the champion, but ‘Remember The Name’ is not ready to budge. But hey, Muhammad isn’t really wrong, is he?
Co͏nor McGregor’s a͏n͏ticipated comeback͏ agai͏nst ͏Michael Chandler was initial͏ly ͏s͏et for UFC 3͏03,͏ but a to͏e͏ injur͏y ͏der͏ail͏ed it. However, ‘Mystic Mac’ has teased a return for so long that people might not believe him until they see him right inside the octagon. So a welterweight title shot does look like a stretch. UFC fans would prefer Conor McGregor finish his Michael Chandler chapter before looking further.
Belal Muhammad further added, “Even with the last fight with Colby, skipping the line for Leon, I’m like, ‘I would never do that’ because there’s guys that are actually put in the work. For legacy-wise, obviously, I would want to slap Conor around.” But considering how long McGregor versus Chandler has been taking, Muhammad expects the Irishman to challenge for the welterweight title after three years.
Belal Muhammad further criticized McGregor for his recent shenanigans. The welterweight champion emphasized that there was once a time when ‘Mystic Mac’ was a shining star, but right now, he has lost his edge. Regardless, Muhammad is not the only one who has looked at McGregor with pessimism. Another welterweight fighter did the same.

The undefeated Kazakh warrior, Shavkat Rakhmonov is not certain what Conor McGregor is up to. He is one of the biggest contenders for the belt. However, when asked if he had any worry that McGregor would jump lines to become the next welterweight contender, the 29-year-old responded confidently:
“To be honest, I don’t even think about when’s Conor going to fight [and] when he’s going to be ready. I don’t think about all that, you know. He’s been getting ready to fight for a long time but hasn’t [been] able to do that yet… I don’t even think about him winning this one fight in three years is gonna do something,” said Rakhmonov in a conversation with ‘MMA Fighting.’
He further added, “I understand he’s a big star, but in my head, I don’t see it being possible, you know. I think UFC is the most fair organization, so I believe they’re gonna do everything right.”

With both welterweight stars not taking Conor McGregor seriously, it seems unlikely that he will have many opportunities for the 170-lb belt. Further, Kamaru Usman too wants a shot at the title. The fact that he has three back-to-back losses isn’t helping him. In such a scenario, the division might not have space for the Irishman right now.
