‘Platinum’ Mike Perry was visibly fuming when Conor McGregor apparently “fired” him while taking shots at his Dirty Boxing Championship promotion after his loss to Jake Paul. However, it appears that he wasn’t angry at ‘The Notorious’ at all. McGregor recently revealed an alleged message from Perry after a successful night as a part-owner of the BKFC.
BKFC on DAZN: Tenaglia vs. Soto in Spain was surely a must-watch event, as Conor McGregor splashed the cash when it came to the main eventers. The lightweight title was on the line between Franco Tenaglia and Tony Soto, as both fighters put on a fight that kept the former UFC double champion on his feet. With the former registering the title win, Conor McGregor decided to reward them for their outing by doubling their paychecks, which, of course, included bonuses for Tenaglia and Soto.
However, it was after the fight that Conor McGregor took to social media and revealed a conversation he had with BKFC’s big-time star, Mike Perry. According to the Irishman, ‘Platinum’ allegedly appeared to be thankful for getting fired. “[Mike] Perry messaged me and said thanks for firing me,” McGregor wrote on his Instagram stories.

It’s a surprising revelation, to say the least, given how angrily Mike Perry reacted when Conor McGregor said he was fired from the BKFC more than a couple of months ago. But is there any way for ‘Platinum’ to make his BKFC return? Well, it doesn’t seem like it, since McGregor shared a clear message regarding his status.

Is Mike Perry still fired? Conor McGregor confirms
Mike Perry may not have had a big run in the UFC, but his BKFC performances made him a superstar of the bare-knuckle outfit. Some of the key, high-profile fights he took part in, such as those with Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez, can be considered the main reasons for his turnaround, and thus, he can be credited for the swift growth of the promotion. It would be a big loss for BKFC if they lose out on Perry. But guess what? Conor McGregor doesn’t think that’ll be the case because he still stood firm in his decision to keep ‘Platinum’ fired.

“Mike Perry’s sacked still, still fired,” Conor McGregor stated during a recent BKFC interview. So what does the future hold for Mike Perry? Well, his last opponent, Jake Paul, did mention his willingness to offer the former UFC star a job in his promotion, but it doesn’t seem like Perry will go through with it. It seems like ‘Mystic Mac’ is pulling all the strings now that he’s not only a part-owner but also the vice president of BKFC.
