A few days back ‘The Eagle’s’ martial arts school in Makhachkala, Russia was raided by the Russian security forces. The raid was reportedly carried out as a part of an investigation into the coordinated attacks in the Russian cities of Derbent and Makhachkala on June 23, 2024. Now the Dagestani fighter has landed in more trouble after a recent update.

According to Mash, an online Russian newspaper, Khabib Nurmagomedov has no control over his bank accounts. Reports suggest that the UFC legend has had his accounts seized after he was rumored to be in debt of over 297 million rubles. His former opponent Conor McGregor took this opportunity to mock the Dagestani fighter. He shared the post on his X account with the caption “I heard he is now a porta p..ty in Dubai.” 

‘The Eagle’ is considered one of the best fighters in the UFC. Through his dominant performances inside the Octagon, he became a superstar and a national treasure for Russia. However, things have taken a turn for the worse and the 35-year-old will have to find a way out of it. The former champion retired from the sport in 2020. He has now shifted his focus to building various businesses. His team, in the meanwhile, has rubbished all claims surrounding tax evasion.

But it seems his team is confident and released a statement about his involvement in tax evasion.
