Conor McGregor is clearly taking his return seriously. But perhaps fans do not sit on the same side of that line. Recently, McGregor shared a video of him getting the floor rumbling in a sparring session. It looks like the former multi-divisional champ is ready with all the power he can muster. But fans remain skeptical.
Right now, the Irishman’s ‘Roadhouse‘ trailer is doing the rounds on social media. While on one end it has been received with much praise, on the other, it looks like fans are still not very convinced with his MMA return. So, what’s going on?

Let’s face it, an athlete’s prime only comes around once in their entire career. Of course, unless it’s an exceptional case. And if there’s one fighter who can be an exception, it’s Conor McGregor. However, that’s still theoretical. The truth is, the facts are all against him.
‘The Notorious’ is the richest MMA fighter out there. He is also the most popular with even non-MMA fans recognizing his name. He has won two championship titles and achieved just about everything a fighter could ever dream of. So the question is, will he return the same?
The last time we saw him inside the Octagon was in 2021. In July, when he went up against Dustin Poirier, ‘The Notorious’ ended up getting his shin broken in the very first round of the fight leading Poirier to win it on a technicality.

Now, he’s had ample time to heal. However, what could bring him back? The only reasonable answer to the question is, he could go for a triple champion honor. And perhaps that’s the goal in his mind. So, he will be returning at middleweight to fight Michael Chandler. And yet, fans aren’t convinced of his dedication inside the cage.
Fans left unimpressed by the sparring session clip
Conor McGregor took to Instagram to share a clip of him sparring. While his punches were packed with power, fans believed his movement was slow and draggy. And as bold as they are, they didn’t hesitate to voice their opinions in the comment section. Here are some of them.
“That’s not sharp, heavy om his feet, but hopefully he finds his spark again”
While some fans believed McGregor was losing his edge, others missed the Karate stance he made famous.
“Bro is so flat footed these days. Miss karate mcgregor”
Yet others believed this was mere boxing, not MMA.
“Boxing won’t win an mma fight respectfully. Best boxer in ufc history means nothing.”

Then there were those who felt he wasn’t the same as his old self.
“He just needs to work a little more on the footwork and circling his opponent like he did back in the day, lighter on the feet. That would help him to get out of fire”
“Don’t look like his old self in the same time clips ..just sayin”
Finally, some believed McGregor was tired.
“Looks tired and gased”

Clearly, fans are set on their opinions and won’t be moved with ease. Meanwhile, McGregor has been trying hard to get into shape and get his wits back together after the shin-break. Will he be able to challenge Michael Chandler to his fullest capacity? Or will he fall short upon his return? Only time will tell.
