The Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor rivalry has been enormous and the most iconic feud in the history of UFC. They fought thrice and in the final one, Poirier broke McGregor’s leg and had to undergo surgery along with a hiatus. He was coming back in UFC 303 but he broke his toe and this fight with Michael Chandler got cancelled. The former dual weight champion, however, reconciled with ‘The Diamond’ and even agreed to donate a good amount of money to ‘The Good Fight Foundation’. However, looks like the feud is back!

Recently, McGregor again triggered beef with Poirier as he commented on a throwback video and dragged his wife into it.

Conor McGregor targets Poirier’s wife yet again

‘The Notorious’ is resting for the time being from his toe injury for which he had to withdraw from the much-awaited UFC 303 bout. However, he is not resting from social media, especially from picking at his opponents. He recently commented on a throwback video of Poirier where he was describing how a man disrespected his wife. McGregor wrote, “Do a DNA test lad,” after sharing the video snippet.

It was a clip from a podcast with Theo Von, and Poirier describing an incident during a Mardi Gras. He said, “I was at one brother’s house, and there was like a street party. My wife was leaning over a fence talking to somebody and then a guy from next door came over like bent over her back while she was bending over and put his hand on her stomach. And like started talking to her ear.” Naturally, he and his friend snapped at the guy and punched him and his friends.

Now McGregor commented about his wife and even questioned her loyalty towards Poirier. This is not the first time that the fighter targeted his family and the feud has been going on for a long time.

The third fight between them was in UFC 264 in 2021 wherein Poirier won. This fight was supposed to be a tiebreaker as both were in 1-1 in their previous bouts. McGregor took a foul move during the third bout and also commented on his family.

After losing the fight against Poirier, he targeted Jolie Poirier. During a post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, he said, “I was boxing the bleedin’ head off him, kicking the bleedin’ leg off him. Usual s***e, dive to close the distance.” He also added, “This is not over. I have to take this outside with him, it’s on. There was no check. There was not one of them a check. Your wife is in my DM’s. Hey baby, hit me back up and I’ll chat to you later on. We’ll be having an afterparty at the Wynn nightclub baby.”

Poirier’s wife was not silent and showed him the middle finger as she walked away from the arena with her husband. This banter has its roots in UFC 257 where Poirier and McGregor shared mutual respect. Jolie Poirier even thanked ‘Mystic Mac’ for his donation to their foundation. However, it was later revealed that McGregor never paid them and he clarified it was because there was no transparency on where it was being used.
