McGregor’s rise to stardom is a story of pure hard work and determination. Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, the 35-year-old is one of the biggest names in the UFC currently. He is also one of the richest athletes in the UFC as well. “The Notorious” one is currently the owner of his whiskey brand, Proper Number Twelve, and also proudly flaunts his pub, The Black Forge Inn. However, in a recent segment for GQ Sports, McGregor revealed how he used to wear fake watches before making it big in the UFC.

The former two-division champion currently wears watches of the brand Patek Phillipe. However, things were not always smooth for the Dublin-born. During the interview, he said: ” I’ve got many great watches. This one in particular is very special because it comes from an Irish jeweler named Weir and Sons, which is one of the most known jewelers in Ireland. And this watch is a Patek Philippe, which is a very exclusive watchmaker. They made this watch specifically for Weird and Sons jewelers in Ireland. And it’s got the Irish colors. There’s only 25 of them made. And you know I had to get it. You ever hear this, this term, you got to fake it till you make it? Before anything, I was getting the fake ones. I was rocking the fake ones like this, but proud.”

Dana White gives his reasons for delaying McGregor’s return

UFC CEO Dana White has finally opened up on the reason for not making the fight official as of yet. McGregor was last seen inside the Octagon at UFC 264 when he took on Dustin Poirier for their rematch. He suffered a horrendous leg injury which has forced him to stay out of action for more than three years now. White recently spoke to Kevin Iole and gave his two reasons for delaying McGregor’s return. The UFC head honcho declared that his injury was one of the reasons for his delay in the fight.

However White also pointed out McGregor’s financial stability as the other reason for his delay. The UFC CEO said: “Conor McGregor doesn’t need the f*cking money. So, when you don’t need the money, it’s not as easy – I mean Khabib (Nurmagomedov) doesn’t need the money. Khabib retired… I need to know the guy’s in a full camp and he’s ready to go.” The 54-year-old also mentioned how McGregor’s outside commitments like film promotions and business ventures also impact his availability for fights.
