Conor McGregor has been teasing a comeback for a long, long time. We almost had him fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but a toe injury ruined it. What’s next? ‘The Notorious’ maintained his stance on his return and now, Dana White stated, “It’s tough to get up and fight when you’re in the position that he’s in. But I do believe that Conor McGregor will fight in 2025. There is no fight made or a date set or any of that.”

Clearly, the 36-year-old wants to get into the octagon. His new tweet suggests just that. “7 out of 10 highest ppv’s, NO! I have 8 of the highest! I outsold UFC 100! I have the documentation to prove it. By end of my contract I will hold the entire top 10,” he shared. How true is that?

Here are the eight fights McGregor was talking about:

  • UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor (1,200,000 PPV Buys – $80 million)
  • UFC 196: McGregor vs. Diaz (1,500,000 PPV Buys – $80 million)
  • UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor II (1,650,000 PPV Buys- $90 million)
  • UFC 205: Alvarez vs. McGregor (1,300,000 PPV Buys – $83 million)
  • UFC 229: Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor (2,400,000 PPV Buys – $180 million)
  • UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cerrone (1,353,429 PPV Buys – $90 million)
  • UFC 257: McGregor v Poirier II (1,600,000 PPV Buys – $100 million)
  • UFC 264: Poirier v McGregor III (1,800,000 PPV Buys – $120 million)

He is not just after victories in the cage; McGregor wants to cement his name as the ultimate pay-per-view attraction, forever tied to UFC’s golden era. According to multiple reports, the Irishman still has two UFC fights left on his contract, something that the UFC head honcho, Dana White, might be aware of. And with those remaining two chances, ‘The Notorious’ intends to occupy the entire list of top-10 biggest PPV fights! But which are the two other fights that are a part of the top-10 list that he will have to displace to achieve this?

  • UFC 251: Usman vs. Masvidal (1,300,000 PPV Buys – $90 million)
  • UFC 100: Lesnar vs. Mir II (1,600,000 PPV Buys – $82 million)

However, when McGregor wrote, “I outsold UFC 100,” which was headlined by a rematch between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir, people got a little confused. What did he mean by that? Well, as per ‘BloodyElbow’, ‘Mystic Mac’ believes that his UFC 205 did better than UFC 100, though most sources suggest otherwise. But only McGregor can explain what he truly meant.

Here’s the question though: Can McGregor add more blockbuster events to his legacy before his contract expires? While the Irishman and Dana White seem to be aiming for a 2025 return, it will be interesting to see if he can break his own 2,400,000 PPV buys ($180 million) record. After all, he hasn’t entered the octagon since July 2021.

All that aside, ‘The Notorious’ has also received a surprising offer to settle his score against Khabib Nurmagomedov!

Conor McGregor pledges his support for the Irish star aiming a clash against “The Nurmagomedovs”

Paul Hughes, the rising star of Irish MMA, has his sights set on the Bellator lightweight world title, and it looks like he may have some legendary backup at his side! Hughes shocked the world at the PFL’s ‘Battle of the Giants’ in Riyadh recently by beating A.J McKee. Now with the champion Usman Nurmagomedov lined up next, he’s calling for Conor McGregor to be there when it goes down.

Speaking after the huge win in Saudi Arabia, Hughes stated, “We all know who’s next! Usman Nurmagomedov is next!… Conor, I want you in my corner for that fight, 100 percent. How cool would that be? I mean, we might need some extra security that night, but I’m down for it.”

The build-up to ‘The Eagle’ and McGregor’s clash at UFC 229 had been intense and heated. It even erupted in a cage-side brawl after the Dagestani champion submitted his opponent and leaped outside the Octagon at McGregor’s team. And though this fight is now in the past, their rivalry and bitterness aren’t.

So, could we see another chapter to this rivalry soon? We just might as McGregor responded to Hughes’s demand on social media by stating,Paul my man I will go to the arena and support 100% for sure and if it kicks off I’ll be in there,” he wrote before continuing to go off on “the Nurmagomedovs”.
