Is Mike Perry really fired from the BKFC after his Jake Paul loss? It’s a question that’s bugging fans and pundits alike because for more than 24 straight months, ‘Platinum’ amassed an undefeated streak in the BKFC, putting that promotion on the map. As such, Conor McGregor‘s sudden decision to cut off Perry from the promotion confused a considerable number of people. However, it seems like ‘The Notorious’ is reconsidering his decision as per his latest comments on that particular situation.
The BKFC seems to be on a roll ever since Conor McGregor doubled the eyes of the promotion had on it after he became a part-owner. The first DAZN event was a banger, without a shadow of a doubt, with the main eventers putting on a clash to remember. But besides that, there was another fighter who made waves on that show. Middleweight champion David Mundell, better known as ‘Redneck’, successfully defended his title for the third time and proceeded to call out Mike Perry, who is actually fired, or is he? Well, McGregor revealed that “talks” are going on behind the scenes.
“Mike is fired, but we’re in negotiation. [David] Mundell called him out. He’s been afraid of Mundell. We had to give him a little cherry-pick-made title in the ‘King of Violence’ or whatever you call it,” Conor McGregor told ‘The Schmo’. He took a few digs at Mike Perry before revealing that there’s a big fight coming up for him, which happens to be taking place during the Riyadh Season.

“He was never the world champion, and he’s afraid of the ‘Redneck’ Mundell. He’s called him out now, [so] let’s see what is Perry’s response. Let’s see. He can come back, we can talk [and] we can go back to the table, but I have a great matchup for Perry also. Discussions have to be had, and that’s for Riyadh Season,” Conor McGregor added. If we think about the Riyadh Season, that’s when some of the biggest fights take place, so could that be him against Perry?

Is Conor McGregor aiming to fight Mike Perry in Riyadh Season?
The term ‘player-coach’ or ‘player-manager’ is often used in team sports, where one person handles the team as a coach and even joins the team on the field during matches. When Conor McGregor joined the BKFC, he mentioned doing the same, given that he became a part owner, and later, the vice president of the promotion. The Irishman didn’t rule out potentially competing inside the BKFC squared circle after his contract with the UFC runs out. Judging by what David Feldman had to say recently, that could come true.
Acknowledging that Mike Perry and Jeremy Stephens are potential BKFC debut opponents for Conor McGregor, David Feldman recently said, “I love both of those but I also am considering bringing somebody else in that I have in mind that I think for his [Conor’s] first one. It could be one of the biggest fights ever.”

The excitement levels from Feldman are surely pretty high and it’s understandable. When you have one of the biggest combat sports stars of this century, every prospect becomes interesting. It is an exciting idea for BKFC’s president because even McGregor said during the interview with ‘The Schmo’ that he will make his “bare-knuckle debut” at Riyadh Season.
