Conor McGregor recently talked about taking inspiration from Mike Tyson as he prepares for his potential UFC fight this Summer. The former two-division champion turned Hollywood actor has been out of the Octagon since he broke his leg in the trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. A lot has been said by many about McGregor’s potential 2024 summer with Chandler; mostly by McGregor himself. And now the Irishman has compared his return to Mike Tyson. Yes, McGregor said he related to how Tyson fighting at the age he does now.

In an exclusive interview with TNT Sports, McGregor talked about his future in UFC. He pointed out that talks have been on the table for his potential return to the Octagon this summer. He kept a positive stride and declared his gratefulness for being a part of UFC. The Road House actor has a lot of options this summer but its likely that if he does indeed return, he will be going up against Michael Chandler.

The former featherweight and lightweight champ talked about how he was influenced by Mike Tyson. He also declared that he does not see age as a limit, and would continue to fight as long as there was an audience for it. He also mentioned how people get weighed down with uncertainty and quit even though they have fights left in them.
McGregor mentioned, “Look at all of my potential opponents I have, I have gangs of opponents, that I could fight, that I have a history with, trilogies, secondary fights, fresh fights even. These are all similar ages to me. So if these people are a similar age to me and I have an audience interest, which I do, who’s to say these fights won’t take place? whenever they take place. It’s to the grave.”
So essentially, The Notorious is ready to fight till he is down six feet under. That is some dedication, isn’t it? This undying dedication has a secret to it, which McGregor revealed recently.

Conor McGregor about his motivation to fight until death
The 35-year-old has no intentions of retiring any time soon. He is motivated by watching ‘Iron’ Mike, who is going to fight Jake Paul at the age of 58. While others are unsure, given the age gap, McGregor seems to be thrilled about this.
He shared with TMZ Sports about why the age factor was not demotivating to him. He said, “Look at Tyson. Mike Tyson now is fighting Jake Paul, right? He’s fighting him, again, he fought Roy Jones also. There you go. That an old, that guy.”
