The former interim champ managed to secure a dominant first round, but everything changed in the second. Chandler made an outstanding adjustment on the fly and landed a powerful front kick KO that reminded the world of Anderson Silva & Lyoto Machida.

In the post-fight speech with Joe Rogan, ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler issued a call out to title challengers and extended an invitation to Conor McGregor.

He said, “I got one dude on my mind… Conor McGregor. You gotta come back and fight somebody. I am the most entertaining lightweight on the planet, but I wanna up the stakes Conor, I want you at the biggest, I want you at the baddest, and I want you at the best. You and me at 170, this summer, this fall, this winter, holla at your boy. God bless, I’ll see you at the top.”

Chandler is only aiming to either fight for the world title or challenge MMA’s biggest superstar at 170lbs.

Conor McGregor accepts Chandler’s challenge

The Irish superstar offered a response right on and agreed to face the UFC star. With a three-fight-losing skid in the light division and a negative record, McGregor has set his sight on the 170lbs division and teased a move up. ‘The Notorious One’ called out Kamaru Usman for a fight, but it looks like Chandler’s proposition might seal the deal.

So far, UFC hasn’t booked his return fight in 2022 just yet, as the mixed martial artist is still recuperating from an injury. McGregor has, however, taken an interest in this call-out, which could soon put him into yet another instant classic match-up.
