Conor McGregor appears to have switched to ‘party mode’ after the UFC 303 cancellation! The MMA sphere has recently been dominated by the news of McGregor’s withdrawal from the June 29 fight against Michael Chandler. According to an update shared by ‘The Notorious’ on social media, “I picked up an injury prior to the press conference that required more time to heal than was available to me. The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but one made in consultation with my doctors, the UFC, and my team.”

However, in a recent series of pictures shared on his social media account, McGregor seems to be enjoying himself at ‘The Black Forge Inn’ in Dublin. Although the Irish MMA icon has indicated that he is “confident I’ll be back!”, UFC CEO Dana White doesn’t share the same confidence and with ‘The Notorious’ seemingly out of training camp, it raises the question, will Conor McGregor’s comeback happen this year or not?

Conor McGregor shares images of himself ‘partying’ after UFC 303 cancellation

In a series of posts shared on his Instagram story, Conor McGregor seems to be enjoying himself while the MMA fandom is left speculating about his return. According to a report by TMZ, McGregor was at ‘The Black Forge Inn’ to attend a movie premiere at the bar.

‘The Notorious’s social media posts show him enjoying a pint of ‘Forged Irish Stout’ and ‘Proper No. 12 Whiskey’. This is also the first public appearance McGregor has made since the announcement of the UFC 303 cancellation due to his injury. However, footage shared by TMZ shows ‘The Notorious’ displaying no obvious signs of injury like a limp or a protective cast etc. as there also haven’t been any statements about what the injury actually is.

But while McGregor appears to be enjoying himself and sporting a new bald-headed look, Michael Chandler has been left in a state of uncertainty about when their fight will take place. In a video shared on his Instagram account, Chandler stated, “When’s this fight going to happen? What date would it be re-booked for? What venue? How bad is the injury? Reports have come out that it’s not that bad, just needs a little bit of a delay. But still, no guarantees.”

As such, the ‘partying’ and the lack of detailed information about his injury or clarity about the fight’s rescheduling has raised questions about Conor McGregor’s commitment to returning to the Octagon. In fact, even Dana White has indicated that he also has no idea if ‘The Notorious’ will fight again or not!

UFC boss left hanging with McGregor’s withdrawal from UFC 303

Just like the entire MMA fandom, UFC boss Dana White is also left in a state of limbo regarding Conor McGregor’s highly anticipated comeback! In an interview on ‘The Jim Rome Show’, White stated, “Conor McGregor, maybe he’ll fight again, maybe he won’t. You never know with some of the guys that get to that level. You never know if you’re ever going to see them again.”

According to reports online, McGregor still has 2 fights left on his UFC contract, as such, there was speculation about whether the injury is just a way for the Irishman to re-negotiate better terms for his UFC 303 fight. However, White shut down the claims in his interview as he revealed, “He’s never done anything even remotely close to that. He is as solid as solid can be when it comes to being a business partner. Conor McGregor is hurt right now. It’s absolutely real.”
