Conor McGregor was in attendance at the Battle of The Baddest. And grateful to that, we have an update on his possible return. Before he sat down with the rest of the audience members, McGregor gave a short update on his condition and return.

As alleged earlier, it’s entirely reasonable to consider April 2024 as his return date. Now, the fighter has reaffirmed the same. He also gave a valuable update about his leg that snapped during his last fight against Dustin Poirier. And the fans can now barely keep calm as UFC’s Notorious sounds confident. Let’s check some of their reactions!

Conor McGregor may return next year

After being perhaps the biggest reason for the UFC-USADA split, McGregor is adamant about a timely return. The fighter is currently being dope-tested at the testing agency. His samples will go through rigorous testing over a period of six months.

This puts his return date at approximately around April 2024. So McGregor could make his grand return to the cage at UFC 300 to fight Michael Chandler. The two have been touting up their fight for ages now and it’s about time fans get the update. Here’s how they reacted on Instagram.

“Believe it when i hear Bruce Buffer screaming ” ITS TIIIME!!!”.”

“Put him on the prelims”

While some were not sure if they could believe their eyes and ears.

“April fools is to soon”

“Why not 2025? Why so early?”

Others were just tired of the constant updates and date changes.

“I don’t even want it anymore lmao makes no sense at this point”

“I swear yall have reposted this with different dates like 3 times. Just wait for it to be official “

Finally, some even felt bad for Michael Chandler.

“I mean i know this is bs, but still, it might happen. Although, kinda feel bad for chandler tho, bro was pretty active to being not active and waiting on conor.”

So it’s settled now for better or worse. McGregor will return to the cage next year but not anytime soon. However, fans are taking it with a grain of salt thanks to all the prior changes.

But is it believable this time? McGregor has made long claims earlier and they’ve fallen flat. Perhaps this time, he’s telling the truth. The dubious thing though is still whether or not his opponent will be Michael Chandler or not. There are speculations and just a lot of teasing.

Will McGregor fight Chandler?

The truth of the matter is, that no contracts have been signed. Even a weight class has yet to be decided. And there has just been a lot of hype with nothing to back it up. Chandler and McGregor have been going at it with each other since their TUF days now.

Delay after delay has made the idea of their match go a bit stale. The question here is, how badly does Chandler want to fight McGregor? The fighter is exceptional in his own right so how long can he stay inactive in the UFC roster? Some fans allege that Chandler will just fight someone else before McGregor, therefore endangering the match. What do you think? Will the fight really happen or it is going to be another disappointment for the fans?
