Conor McGregor is inarguably one of the most coveted names in the world of MMA. The UFC star has achieved some indomitable feats inside the Octagon, which very few others have conquered. He is the first-ever double champ of the UFC. Holding both Featherweight and Lightweight titles simultaneously. McGregor is also one of the richest UFC fighters boasting a net worth of about $200M. He also has been into controversies leading to legal actions quite some times. In March 2022, McGregor had to go through the same fate once more.
McGregor’s legal issues have hampered his career as well. He had to give up his UFC Lightweight title due to legal issues which he faced after the infamous ‘hand truck thrown into bus incident’ prior to UFC 223. However, it seems that McGregor didn’t take the lesson from his past mistakes.

Conor McGregor’s previous legal hassles
Controversies have been an inseparable part of McGregor’s life since his rise to power. And some of them have led ‘Mystic Mac’ to legal troubles. The most infamous lawsuit that ‘The Notorious’ had to go through was the ‘hand truck thrown into bus incident’ which he caused before UFC 223. He was released after paying a hefty fine of $50,000; McGregor had to do five days of unpaid community service as well.
There are a few other incidents as well which have also brought McGregor under the eye of the law. In the same month, McGregor smashed one of his fan’s phones in Florida. He also had to pay an amount of $5000 for his release.
On 15 August 2019, ‘The Notorious’ was once again taken into custody after he punched an elderly man. The feud cropped up after he had refused to taste McGregor’s brand of whiskey. The incident happened at the Marble Arch Pub in Dublin. He was found guilty of assault and was fined €1,000 for his release.
The reason behind him being nicknamed ‘The Notorious’ is pretty evident from the incidents he has been into.
