Even after being labeled as a trash talker, The UFC superstar, Conor McGregor has made a few great friends within the promotion. The UFC legend, Urijah Faber, tops the list. They both developed their friendship in the most adverse situations. ‘The Notorious’ and ‘The California Kid’ came face to face as coaches in the 22nd season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2015. However, the fight between the coaches after the season was not possible then; since McGregor was already booked for an interim title bout against Jose Aldo.
Hence, the two were able to develop a friendship and maintain it from then on. Nonetheless, the Irishman makes sure that he pulls the leg of his best buddy for his sensational MMA chin.

Even after staying away from the octagon for a long time, McGregor easily made headlines. Recently, the two-division champion’s Instagram post caught the attention of many. The Irishman recently surprised his Instagram followers. McGregor posted a picture where he was seen channeling his inner Steve Jobs. The 34-year-old was dressed exactly like Steve Jobs in the picture.
Under the post, he wrote, “Channeling my inner Steve Jobs for A MEGA ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW…Stay Tuned“. Through the post, McGregor tried to convey that he was all set to collaborate with the tech-giant Apple.

A lot of Instagram celebs commented on the post, including his beloved Dee Devlin. However, the funniest comment was from his best buddy and fellow MMA fighter, Urijah Faber. ‘The California Kid’ wrote, “I call this one ‘the cantelope perch’.” Faber forgot that he was commenting under the biggest trash-talker at UFC.
As a reply to Faber’s comment, the Irishman wrote, “If you hold your chin like that, your fingers would dip into it.”
However, it was not the first time the former double division champ commented on the sensational chin of Faber.
The clash before the friendship

During one of the episodes of TUF 22, McGregor and Faber were in a panel discussion. During the discussion, Faber inquired about ring girls as the show’s premiere fights were about to begin. As a reply to Faber’s query, McGregor said, “You should walk around with a card and shake that chin.” The jab of ‘The Notorious’ is still considered one of the biggest insults a fighter has said in MMA history. Faber, who never expected that kind of response from the Irishman, was tongue-tied.
The trash-talking is mostly a part of the game and the Irishman and the 43-year-old have the best kind of friendship. However, their friendship story was the most unexpected of all; especially after the clash between the two at backstage the UFC 189 weigh-ins.

However, it was a brief encounter, as the two ended the fight before it escalated much. The TUF fans are now waiting to see the Notorious back to the role of TUF coach for the 31st season.
