While McGregor escaped fatal injuries, the same could not be said for his bike. In the clip, we can hear him saying “That bike is f***ed.” Now, a former UFC star has come forward with a piece of advice for McGregor, specifically regarding his bike.
Brendan Schaub’s advice to Conor McGregor
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub discussed McGregor’s accident. He reviewed “The Notorious” one’s Instagram post to give his take on the incident. Schaub noted how McGregor was nice to the man that knocked him down before talking about the bike he was riding on.
The bike McGregor was using at the time of the accident did not impress the 39-year-old. He suggested that the Irishman invest in a better bike.
Schaub said, “Let me see Conor’s bike there… He got too much money to be riding that bike. I got a better bike than that. Get a real bike. Get a real road bike man. What, was he going to the store for milk? He’s not like doing road work on that thing.”
While Schaub’s advice to McGregor may seem trivial, he had his own reasons for suggesting it.
Why Schaub recommended a different bike to McGregor
Speaking about using bikes for road work, Schaub revealed that he switched from road bikes to gravel bikes. An avid rider himself, the comedian, stated that roads are too dangerous compared to trails. “I love being on road bikes but it’s just so dangerous man,” he noted.

“Thicc Boy” also pointed out the example of former NBA star Shawn Bradley, who was paralyzed after a bike crash. According to Schaub, the accident happened while Bradley was riding his bike in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Schaub emphasized the dangers that come with riding bikes on the road. Conor McGregor experienced those dangers firsthand and lived to tell the tale.
