The MMA legend believes that McGregor came out of his character when he made that confession on social media.

A few weeks ago, Conor McGregor posted a series of deleted tweets where he explained the situation regarding his comeback. Chael Sonnen had noticed what the Irishman had to say. He also reiterated the fact that the former double champion asserted that it was the UFC and USADA’s fault that he was not being able to make his comeback.

“Conor had come up with a tweet a number of months ago as it had to do with USADA and the UFC and them not letting him fight in December,” said Chael Sonnen. He even pointed out how McGregor mentioned that he was being kept away from his livelihood, which is fighting, by the people who have the authority. Sonnen continued, “He said, ‘These guys were stopping me from making a living,’ and this isn’t their first time.”

Even though Conor McGregor has made a lot of fortune outside the Octagon, he still hasn’t forgotten that MMA is his real bread and butter. As such, ‘The American Gangster’ claimed that he felt like ‘The Notorious’ was sincere with his statements about trying to make the fight against Michael Chandler happen.

Moreover, the MMA legend felt as if McGregor wasn’t being ‘The Notorious’ when he revealed his thoughts about his comeback. Rather, he was being authentic for a change.

Besides, Sonnen came to the conclusion that Conor McGregor wanted his fans and the MMA community to know he was trying hard to make the Michael Chandler fight happen. The UFC legend believes that he has experienced something for the first time and that is being told ‘no’. “He completely broke character to let the world know, ‘I’m trying. I’m doing my part’, on being told no. This is the guy who’s never been told ‘no,'” added Chael Sonnen.
