Jon Jones was scheduled to take on Stipe Miocic as his first heavyweight title defense at UFC 295. However, the champion was forced to withdraw from the main event after he tore the tendon, which connects the pectoral muscle to the bone. Jones is currently recovering and is hopeful of making a comeback soon. However, during his absence, Tom Aspinall earned the title of interim champion and is now waiting to face Jones.

During a recent YouTube video show, host Kaz Crossley asked: “It’s just like kind of bending the rules almost, and if it’s the same for everyone else, like why isn’t it the same for maybe because it’s Jon Jones and they are trying to protect him.

Aspinall replied: ” I think it would have been a good fight like five years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still watch it, and I’ll still enjoy it and everything. I’ve got, so I think a lot of people get it twisted what I said. I’ve got so much respect for both Jon and Stipe. I am just trying to be the best. That’s it. I am not trying to like disrespect any of them. I got so much respect for both.

UFC CEO Dana White and Jones have been adamant about featuring Stipe Miocic as his next opponent. Despite consistent call-outs from Aspinall, there has yet to be an official announcement regarding his next fight. Will he get the opportunity to face Jones in the future?  

Who will Tom Aspinall face next in his career? 

Tom Aspinall rose to fame after delivering a blockbuster performance against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295. However, ‘ Honey Badger’ is struggling to get the attention of the current heavyweight champion, Jon Jones. Before Jones suffered his injury, he was all set to face Stipe Miocic as his next opponent. Miocic is the two-time heavyweight champion waiting for his fight against Jones.

During a recent Twitter post, Jones clarified that he has no intention of fighting Aspinall and is instead focused on Miocic. Jones is recovering from an injury, and it will be interesting to see when he returns. The UFC has yet to announce the much-awaited fight between Jones and Miocic.
