There is finally an answer to when the bout between Colby Covington and Leon Edwards will take place. The bout between Covington and Edwards is a highly discussed topic in the UFC, as many are still not happy with the matchup. UFC president Dana White wanted ‘Chaos’ to lock horns against Edwards, as he strongly believed that he deserved another title shot for weighing in as the backup fighter at UFC 286. The Springfield native had already received two title shots against the former UFC champion, Kamaru Usman. However, he came up short on both occasions. But now, Covington has a chance to make the third time the charm.

Even the welterweight champion Leon Edwards, didn’t want Covington as an opponent. The Englishman believes Covington has not done enough to earn another shot at the title. Nonetheless, Dana White remains adamant. The drama that went around the matchup increased the excitement of the bout, and now there is finally some clarity on when the bout will take place.

In an interview with TNT Sports, the UFC boss revealed that the highly anticipated showdown between ‘Rocky’ and ‘Chaos’ would take place at UFC 295. The Chosen Advisory group head told Submission Radio, “It will be before the end of the year. Yeah that there’s, I guess the two cards left in November and December and they’re still finalizing those. Leon’s good. He’s ready to go waiting for the call. From my understanding Colby’s ready to go as well.Simpson confirmed that both Covington and Edwards are ready to fight before 2023 comes to an end.

As the Edwards vs. Covington train looks to be moving full steam ahead, another welterweight contender has called foul on the whole situation. Further, he has stated the pros of fighting the winner of the much anticipated 170 lbs title bout.
