Before the clock hit its 3-minute mark in the very first round, Bobby Green was out of it. Turner managed to punch him down to the point where Green seemed almost passed out. But should that have been the case? Fans and fighters are speaking out about a late stoppage because the ref let Turner hit Green to the extent that it was excessive.

UFC fighter Derek Brunson too chipped in.

Green looked like he had been knocked out cold after a brutal ground and pound that could have been stopped earlier.

Even Dustin Poirier couldn’t help but speak up about it.

Famous MMA journalist Ariel Helwani of the MMA Hour Show was on it too.

Meanwhile, these fans called for the commission to remove the ref for good.

What did you think about the stoppage of the fight? While it was a rather spectacular knockout, it never needs to go so far. Even Turner himself was surprised regarding the whole thing. But at the end of the day, it’s part of his work. Here’s his take on the situation.
