B.J. Penn‘s list of accolades cannot be compared to any other fighter. He is considered one of the fastest men to become a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Penn achieved this feat in three years and four months. He was a multi-divisional champion in the UFC, primarily in the lightweight and welterweight categories.

Joe Rogan pits Khabib vs. BJ Penn as a dream match

Rogan, in an episode of his podcast, mentioned that “He was just doing these unbelievably brutal cardio workouts every day and almost no martial arts. And then he would go and have a gas tank that was off the charts. When you’ve got a guy who’s already as talented as B.J. with zero fear of getting tired, he was the G.O.A.T,”

Joe Rogan expressed that he would love to see Khabib Nurmagomedov fight against B.J. Penn. He also said, “If there was a fight that I ever wanna see, it’d be Khabib Nurmagomedov in his prime vs BJ Penn in those years with Marinovich.”

Khabib retired in 2020 after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The Dagestani fighter retired with a record of 29 wins and remained undefeated throughout his stint at the UFC. He is considered one of the greatest fighters of the modern era, with wins over UFC stars like Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, to name a few.
