Colby Covington, the former interim welterweight champion of UFC, is infamous for having a feud with many fighters in the promotion. He not only takes a dig at welterweight fighters but also fighters from other divisions. However, this fired back at ‘Chaos’ one time.
Covington’s arch-rival Jorge Masvidal, revealed in an interview with ESPN MMA, that the Californian got in trouble at the American Top Team for disrespecting the Russian MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Gamebred said, “He said some things about Khabib Nurmagomedov. We got a bunch of Russians here and guess what? Those Russians got him in the bathroom because he was in the sauna with like four or five of them.”
“And they told him, ‘Hey brother, you cannot talk like this. He’s like, ‘No, I am sorry.’ At the time, we were not cool at all because he had already ripped off my coach,”– he added.
“So I was like, I hope they f**k him up…. So I was hoping these Russians were going to take him out. But he was such a coward. And so like ‘no-no, never again bro’… And they are like, don’t disrespect Khabib.” Masvidal concluded.
During the initial stages of their career, Masvidal and Covington were best friends. In fact, they even lived together in the same house. However, after a few events, their friendship turned into one of the most vicious rivalries in the history of UFC. Now the men are ready to rip the head off of each other.

Apart from the feud, it is an important match for both the 170lbs fighters, as a win in this fight will take the winner closer to the title. None of them have won the undisputed welterweight title yet in their UFC career.
Hence, a lot is on the line in this fight. But for the fans, it is going to be a delightful treat to watch these friends turned enemies clash against each other inside the UFC cage.
