Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington didn’t part ways with his former long-term gym, American Top Team, on the good terms. Covington had issues with a few of the members of the ATT. Also, he felt he lacked proper attention at ATT and the gym had too much drama involved. Thus, Covington left the gym in search of a more compact gym that gives him proper attention. Soon, he found a new gym at the MMA Masters in Miami, where he currently trains.
In the UFC 272 Countdown show, ‘Chaos’ has revealed his current feelings towards his long-term ATT coach, Dan Lambert.

He said, “Still have love for Dan Lambert. But we’re in a collision course now. When I destroy all his fighters, I don’t think he’s going to like me anymore.”
Considering ‘Chaos‘ was sacked from the gym, this statement, from the welterweight, comes rather surprising. However, Lambert was his long-term coach. Hence, his gratitude towards the coach is warranted.

In spite of that, as Covington stated, he would look to decimate his best-friend-turned-bitter-rival, Jorge ‘Gamebred‘ Masvidal, at UFC 272 PPV.
Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal had a back-and-forth
Covington and Masvidal will make history in their epic showdown, as the former ATT teammates will headline UFC 272, with no championship on the line. Since this fight is one of the most anticipated fights of this year, to promote the fight, these two fighters had a split-screen interview with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.

During the interview, ‘Gamebred’ explained how the rift between him and Covington started. Masvidal said Covington owed his coaches some money from the fights. He detailed that Covington didn’t pay $12.5K per match money to his coach. Masvidal also revealed that he had to pay the coach himself, as Covington didn’t pay the agreed amount.
Covington didn’t seem to take the allegations from Masvidal too seriously. Hence, he was laughing throughout Masvidal’s comments. An irritated Masvidal said, “Keep smiling, little b*tch, I can’t wait to break those fake teeth. He ain’t got sh*t to say, he’s a broke b*tch.”
“It’s fake news, Stephen, it’s fake news. Anything Jorge Masvidal says is a lie,” said Covington, denying all the allegations.
