Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most respectful people you’ll ever meet. This is why fans were so surprised to see him get into a dispute with the flight crew of Alaska Airlines this Saturday. A clip of the whole affair has gone viral on MMA internet. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding between Nurmagomedov and the crew.

It seems that Khabib, who was sitting on the same row as the emergency exit, was asked by the crew if he would be able to assist other passengers exit the plane in case of an emergency. The crew apparently didn’t like the answer they got and offered ‘The Eagle’ another seat or to de-board and take another flight. Nurmagomedov could be heard saying that this was “not fair” and promptly left the plane. Fans, of course, are all over this and hotly debating who was right. But Colby Covington is asking the real questions.

“Bratha why you fly the coach and the Alaska airlines bratha!?” Covington asked in a tweet along with a clip of the incident.

After all, Nurmagomedov is pretty wealthy. He made a lot of money in his UFC days as one of its biggest stars and has also made a lot of good investments around the world. If he wanted, ‘The Eagle’ could have flown first class, or even in a private jet. He can certainly afford it. Instead, the Dagestani, who is pretty humble and down to earth (one of the reasons he is so beloved in the MMA world) chose to fly economy on his Alaska Air flight.

Where exactly Nurmagomedov was headed on that flight before he left is unknown, but reports suggest he was headed to California. ‘The Eagle’ is set to corner two of his teammates at UFC 311 this Saturday in Inglewood, California. And the debate around this incident rages on online.

Belal Muhammad weighs in on Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Air Alaska flight incident

Covington, of course, is pretty amused by Nurmagomedov’s unfortunate experience on the flight and is making light of the whole incident. On the other hand, UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad, who considers Nurmagomedov a close personal friend and his idol, was seemingly infuriated at the whole affair. “He could’ve threw everyone off the plane and flew it himself if he wanted,” ‘Bully B’ tweeted.

The fans, however, are split. Some feel this was just Nurmagomedov being racially profiled or a case of an employee being determined to use the power they have, while others are far more sympathetic to the flight crew. After all, if the crew doesn’t feel comfortable with Nurmagomedov, whose first language isn’t English, it is reasonable for them to ask him to move.

Plus, the decision of whether or not Nurmagomedov could sit in that seat had already been made before the crew member asked him to move. The attendant could have been a bit more polite and tried to explain the situation to him, but whether or not Nurmagomedov got to sit in that seat was up to them.

Plus, they did offer him another seat and the decision to level the plane was entirely up to ‘The Eagle’. What do you think about Colby Covington’s take on Khabib Nurmagomedov’s flight fiasco?
