Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal were once friends and training partners, but their relationship deteriorated over time. It eventually led to a heated rivalry that culminated in their UFC 272 bout. After the fight, Covington alleged that Masvidal had attacked him in Miami. It led to Covington pressing charges against his former friend. The incident added fuel to the fire of their already contentious relationship. Since then, the two have not spoken much about each other in the media.

However, Covington recently spoke out about Masvidal‘s split from his management company, First Round Management. When asked about the situation, Covington said that he was interested in seeing what would come out about the split. He was interested to know what exactly had happened between Masvidal and his former manager, Abraham Kawa.

“I can’t wait to see all the stuff that comes out between that”, Covington said. “…I think there’s more to come and more to hear from that so we’ll have to see when we get more facts”, he added in the end.

It is unclear what Covington was alluding to with his comments, but it seems that he may be expecting some kind of drama or controversy to emerge from the situation. Given the history between Covington and Masvidal, it is not surprising that Covington would be eager to see his former rival caught up in some kind of scandal.
