Jamahal Hill feels UFC light heavyweight champ Alex Pereira cheated him out of the title. Now the former champ is set to face Jiri Prochzaka at UFC 311 next year, which may bring him a rematch with the Brazilian which he has been desperate for. But, Hill almost got a chance to fight Pereira earlier this month at the UFC’s Performance Institute (PI).
In a viral video of the incident, ‘Sweet Dreams’ could be seen approaching Pereira and mouthing off. To which ‘Poatan’ pulled an absolute boss move. The champ, who isn’t one to trash talk, simply threw a pair of gloves Hill’s way and pointed to the cage, inviting him to stop talking and fight him. But Hill refused, and could be heard asking “for free?” UFC lightweight and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s former opponent, Michael Johnson, finds Hill’s conduct contemptible, calling it “clown s**t.”
“Why even go over there and say anything if you’re not prepared to do anything?… It made no sense ’cause are you walking over there to fight him? And then, like, you walked over there, like, why? To talk? Now if he would have walked over there and been cool with him then it wouldn’t have been no problem,” Johnson said on BKFC superstar Mike Perry’s ‘YouTube’ podcast.

In fact, Johnson felt Pereira was way too respectful of Hill’s shenanigans and the Brazilian champ should have cracked ‘Sweet Dreams’ on the chin to shut him up.
“And he’s lucky Alex didn’t have a mindset like somebody like me or you, because honestly, he should have got hit. Like why you coming over here, like, talking and s**t? They wouldn’t have thought anything about it. He would have caught one in the chin it would have got broken up and then he would have looked like a complete, like, fool over there,” he added. But why exactly does Hill dislike Pereira so much?

Why does Jamahal Hill think Alex Pereira cheated against him?
Jamahal Hill’s problems with Alex Pereira began at their UFC 300 clash. After all, ‘Sweet Dreams’ is sure that ‘Poatan’ took unfair advantage of a break at their UFC 300 clash to close the distance and knock him out in the first round. To add insult to Hill’s injury, Pereira and the fans have been laughing at him since they believe he is being a sore loser.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that ‘Sweet Dreams’ isn’t one to make excuses after losing. In fact, if you actually look at their fight, Hill is correct. Referee Herb Dean tried to step in between the two brawlers in the first round of their UFC 300 suspecting a low blow from Hill. However, ‘Poatan’ waved off the referee, who promptly stepped back and asked for the fight to continue.

But, in this very brief break in action, ‘Poatan’ could be seen stepping forward, getting within range of Hill. Moments later, the Brazilian caught ‘Sweet Dreams’ with one of his fantastic left hooks, and the bout was over shortly after. You can debate whether Pereria stepping forward during the break was something objectionable or not and whether or not Hill should have made such a big deal out of it. But what you cannot say is that Hill was lying or is making up excuses to save face.
No. The former champ seemingly sincerely believes that ‘Poatan’ cheated and it is understandable why he has such hatred for Pereira ever since. What do you think about Michael Johnson’s take on the Pereira-Hill UFC PI scuffle?
