Close Friend Confesses Why ‘Jealous Cop’ Shot Jiu-Jitsu Legend Leandro Lo for a Tequila Bottle

Bellator fighter Dillon Danis is making a lot of ripples. He appeared in the recent episode of ‘The MMA Hour’ which is hosted by MMA journalist Ariel Helwani. The duo touched on a lot of topics, from talking about Danis‘s earnings to accusing Jared Gordon of using PEDs. Danis also went on to share the bone-chilling story of how Jiu-Jitsu legend Leandro Lo was shot by a cop in a club over a trivial argument. Leandro Lo was a Brazilian Martial Artist. He had won eight IBJJF world titles across five weight classes. Lo was shot in Sao Paulo in August earlier this year by an off-duty officer.

The officer later surrendered to the Brazilian police. Leandro Lo was rushed to the hospital with a bullet injury to the head. He, however, was declared brain-dead on arrival. Lo was a loving personality and his friends attended his funeral wearing Jiu-Jitsu Gi to pay their tributes.

Dillon Danis reveals how Lo was shot

Talking to Ariel Helwani, Danis recalled what had happened on the day of the incident. He stated he was with Leandro Lo when the episode happened. He said,” I was with him not that long before he what happened to him and it’s just like so crazy because something like that could happen to me too.”

When Helwani asked Danis about what happened, he said, “He got shot in the head. He got shot over a tequila bottle.”

Ariel Helwani asked the reason behind the argument. Danis responded by saying, “so apparently the guy was like uh jealous of him and he was outside and the Leandro had a bunch of girls they were hanging out, and then guy was just jealous”

He further added, “so he took the bottle like that and like drank it and like the angel took him down choked them out and like and then they got separated in there the guy is like oh I’m good and then he was like pacing back and forth and just came up and shot him”.

Leandro Lo was an exceptional fighter

Leandro Lo was an exceptional fighter. His world championships and flexibility between divisions were one of a kind. The fighter was also known for his marvelous ability to rest between fights and then use the energy to explode. He was also reputed for having a massive gas tank that allowed him to keep going in a fight, even if he was in unfavorable situations.

The cop who shot Leandro Lo is behind the prison walls. It’s heartbreaking that the BJJ world lost a star and a gifted talent because of someone’s jealousy. Leandro Lo will be missed. What do you think about the horrible incident?
