Dana White confidently declared that he was going to make history with UFC 306 at The Sphere in Las Vegas. More than $17 million have been spent for the blockbuster fight that is going to happen on September 14. The UFC CEO’s plans for ‘Noche UFC’ are extremely grand however the fans did not seem to be impressed by the fight cards.
Noche UFC is the second event that coincided with the Mexican Independence Day. Along with that for the first time, the title sponsor for the event is ‘Riyadh Season’ and will be the title partner for this affair. To announce the fight on a grand scale, UFC uploaded an Instagram post, where the UFC head honcho announced that Sean O’Malley will defend his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili at ‘The Sphere’. On top of that, White also announced a compelling co-main event where UFC flyweight champion Alexa Grasso will face former champ Valentina Shevchenko.

There are also cards like a re-booked matchup between Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes. UFC even hyped up the event with a Twitter/X post saying, “The greatest live combat sports show anybody’s ever seen 🔥@RiyadhSeason #NocheUFC LIVE on PPV from @SphereVegas.” Meanwhile, a fan reposted this and said, “Cheapest seats will be £40,000 to watch Ode Osbourne open the main card.” So clearly this event has not been able to impress the UFC fans as such.
They had some harsh things to say about the fight cards and did not hold back while requesting their favorite fighters for the event.

UFC Buffs expressed their disappointment at the fight cards, especially because names like Max Holloway and Ilia Topuria’ were not included. The featherweight champion as well as the BMF champion were expected to be a part of part of UFC 306. However, the hopes of the UFC fans were in the shambles when the announcement did not have their name. On the same note, one fan said, “We don’t care to announce Holloway v Topuria f**ksake.” While another follower said, “This card is absolutely Garbage save the top 3 fights. What had happened to UFC.”
Along with not having Max Holloway and Topuria, the fans are also disappointed because Dan Ige did not get his dues. Fans were impressed after he gave an impressive performance at UFC 303 where he took the fight on short notice against Diego Lopes, Dana White was also proud of him and promised to give him a spot at UFC Noche. However, this promise was not kept and fans did not like that. However, ‘50K’ wasn’t so cruel. He came onward to White’s justification and echoed, “All good it’s not Dana’s fault there just wasn’t a Mexican available to fight.” Nonetheless, the fans are not impressed and one follower commented, “Yes seems we going to Canelo fight.”
Another fan also gave their advice and said, “I would wager that the Ortega vs Lopes fight ends up being at LW and not at FW.” Despite labeling the event as one of the biggest shows that UFC has ever seen with almost $17 million spent, the fight cards fell short and fans wanted to see different fighters. However, it is expected that UFC Noche will have a $2M+ gate. Meanwhile, netizen expressed their emotions and said, “Honestly kinda underwhelming,” while another fan said, “More like the most overhyped UFC card of all time.”

Max Holloway had won his card in UFC 300 by a massive KO against Justin Gaethje and followers expected to see him fight again. Yet, that was not the case and one netizen wrote, “This is the most disappointing main card I’ve ever seen for something so hyped up.” Another follower chimed in, “Surprised, really light Main card, great main and co but almost think there’s additional fights incoming?? A lot of build-up for this.”
The Noche UFC is expected to be one of the biggest events of the promotion despite the disappointment of the fans. It’s a one-time-only spectacle as per White and the excitement is simmering through all the debates about the fight cards. If you had the chance to add any fights who would you like to see?
