UFC 300 is just a month away and Charles Oliveria has his fans concerned. The entire card is stacked to the core, with the Brazilian being a key attraction. The MMA community is patiently counting down the days until the triple-century event, but a distressing update about ‘Do Bronx’ is making some noise. According to sources, the lightweight contender has injured himself while training.

Charles Oliveira is set to face Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300 and winning the bout would give him a chance at the lightweight belt. However, Oliveira’s injury might be a roadblock to their match. According to recent images, ‘Do Bronx’ seems to have suffered a cut above his eye just four weeks out from his fight. The cut is a new injury and not the same one that happened ahead of UFC 294.

For the October 2023 event, he suffered a cut above his eye just days before the PPV and Alexander Volkanovski had to step in to face Islam Makhachev for a champ vs. champ fight at UFC 294.

It has been nearly a year since Oliveira last stepped into the Octagon and fans are now worried about the well-being of the fighter ahead of the grand night. The hype for the fight is such that ‘Do Bronx’ fans had a field day disrespecting Arman Tsarukyan at a recent Q&A session. A canceled bout would make things even worse for the division and the promotion at this late stage. So, fans were curious, frustrated, and even suspecting some foul play in the wake of the news.

Charles Oliveira injury unsettles fans four weeks out from UFC 299

Back when the UFC 294 pull-out happened, Chael Sonnen claimed that Oliveira was never going to fight Makhachev for the second consecutive time in Abu Dhabi, the Russian’s home turf. Now, if the Tsarukyan fight falls through over this new injury, and Oliveira claims he can be back in, say June, will the UFC book him against Makhachev? The Russian star has expressed his willingness to fight in June, with UFC 299 co-main winner Dustin Poirier leading the race to be his opponent.

If Oliveira steps out of UFC 300, will he be considered for a title shot over Poirier? Along these lines, one fan wrote, “He’s trying to fight in June, is all. He’ll call for Islam in June.”

Meanwhile, ex-UFC and Strikeforce veteran Josh Thomson had some expert advice for the Brazilian. ‘The Punk’ said, “Head gear doesn’t prevent you from getting knocked out… it mainly helps you from getting cut. Maybe start using a full shield headgear.”

A concerned fan questioned the person causing harm to Oliveira every time he prepares for his fight- “Who tf keeps using their elbows when he has fights upcoming.”

Alexander Volkanovski stepped in as his replacement at UFC 294 and since then he has been knocked out twice. First by Islam Makhachev and second by Ilia Topuria. Based on this, a fan took a funny approach to his comment and wrote, “Volk getting KOd 3 times incoming.”

Another fan was hopeful that Oliveria would not pull out from the match and made a bold prediction, “Charles ain’t pulling out, he’ll fight and he’ll murder tsarukyan.”

One of the fans expressed optimism that he would recover in time for the event: “5 weeks out he’s fine.”

Last but not least, a fan advised Oliveira to use headgear while having sparring sessions- “Someone teach him what headgear is maybe a lil Vaseline too.”
