Chael Sonnen battled Jon Jones back in 2013 at UFC 159 with the Lightweight title hanging in the balance. The fight only lasted for a single round as Jones successfully defended his title by KO/TKO ground and pound.

Now, after 8 long years, both went to a Twitter battle exchanging mean comments with each other. Chael Sonnen took this matter on his YouTube channel while breaking down the story behind the feud.

‘The Bad Guy’ downplayed ‘Bones’ by saying “Jon Jones, no matter how much longer he keeps fighting this point of his career, he will just simply never achieve what Sugar Ray Leonard did- just as an example And Sugar Ray Leonard isn’t living in a way where he is revered and people are falling out of his way.”

Sonnen went on and said, “So when I see that Jon when this whole book is done and the last punch is thrown, which could already be here. It could already have been thrown things just don’t get better. They move on to the next guy to the next best thing that the way sports work.”

‘Uncle Chael’ compared him with Sugar Ray Leonard, as he wanted to show that Jon Jones isn’t the greatest. He tried to convey that people remember guys like Mohammed Ali because of the contribution they make both in and outside the arena.
