The war of words between Conor McGregor and Chael Sonnen has taken yet another turn! The Irish MMA icon had caused a wave of speculation in the MMA world with the recent cancellation of his UFC 303 bout against Michael Chandler. Initially, there wasn’t much clarity about what led to McGregor’s withdrawal except that he had suffered from an undisclosed injury. As such, Chael Sonnen had brought up a theory on the ‘Good Guy/Bad Guy’ where he speculated that, “…one side is in the middle of rehab for substance abuse, including alcohol.”

But in a recent update on social media, McGregor has come out and revealed the truth behind the injury and took a shot at Sonnen’s claims, as well. However, in his trademark manner, Sonnen has now come out and fired back at ‘The Notorious’. Here’s a look at what he had to say!

Conor McGregor recently revealed that he withdrew from his UFC 303 bout due to a broken pinky toe, sustained in training camp. In an update on Instagram, the Irishman stated, “…I hit the toe off the elbow and broke the toe clean.”

In a since-deleted post on X, McGregor had also taken a shot at Chael Sonnen’s claim about him being in rehab by sharing pictures of his injury and captioned the post, “Chael shut your pie hole, h*e. You Tap from ground and pound.”

As such, speaking on his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen responded by asserting that he was complimenting McGregor on seeking help for a supposed problem, and McGregor misunderstood this as an attack. He stated, “He’s arguing with me and telling me to shut my piehole. Do not listen to Chael who says I’m reaching out to help and better myself, listen to me, who had to pullout of a borderline illegal fistfight opposite Michael Chandler who’s one tough sonofab*tch because my pinky toe is discolored.”

Sonnen also elaborated on his stance by bringing forth the argument that it would be better for McGregor’s image if fans believed he was seeking help rather than withdrawing due to a minor injury. The UFC analyst stated, “You can listen to my account which builds and helps Conor McGregor or you can listen to Conor’s account, which makes him look like a little b*tch.”

The back-and-forth between McGregor and Sonnen has added an extra layer of drama to the conversation surrounding ‘The Notorious’s UFC 303 withdrawal. However, it wasn’t just Sonnen who took a shot at McGregor as Rafael Dos Anjos seized this opportunity to settle his score with the Irishman!

After 8 years of waiting, Rafael Dos Anjos has fired back at Conor McGregor! The two were scheduled to face each other at UFC 196 in 2016 but the Brazilian had to withdraw from the event just two weeks out from fight day due to a broken foot. This led to McGregor mocking Dos Anjos continuously for pulling out of the fight.

Now, with McGregor out of his fight at UFC 303 due to a broken toe, the Brazilian aimed the Irishman on social media by stating, “That’s the difference between me and you Conor, you finally got exposed. You got a pinky toe injury while I got a broken foot.”

He also shared an image of his injury side by side with McGregor’s and implored the fans to, “Let me know what you guys think on the comments below.”
