You want to know who Michael Franzese is? Well, let us take a stroll down the memory lane. Franzese was no normal gangster. He held one of the highest positions in the Colombo crime family. To be exact, he was the capo regime [Head of a family] in that organization. Franzese ascended to his throne under the tutelage of his mobster father, Sonny Franzese, who was the former underboss. At the height of his career, Franzese claimed that he was making $8 million per week. However, things changed when he got arrested back in 1986  and was sentenced to 10 years.

He turned his back on crime from that point. The former mobster is now a motivational speaker and writer. During his trip to Ireland, Franzese had the opportunity to meet Conor McGregor. The 73-year-old, along with his family, spent some time with the former dual-weight champion and took photos with him. Franzese termed ‘Mystic Mac’ a gentleman. He further emphasized that he would be in attendance for his comeback next month.

“Had the absolute pleasure of spending time with “The Champ,” Conor McGregor, at his Black Forge Restaurant in Dublin. What a “class act” he is. Absolute gentleman…. I’ll be attending his upcoming fight in Vegas, end of June,” wrote Franzese on his X handle.

Conor took a break from training for his fight in Vegas this June. He was great and so is the city of Dublin and it’s fun loving people. We had a blast.” Well, Michael Franzese gave us the answer as to why we witnessed McGregor having a late-night party. Will this be enough to take on Chandler? We don’t know, but there’s another fight waiting for the former champ if he gets his hands on Chandler.

While having a conversation with ‘The MMA Hour’, Edwards emphasized that he would give McGregor a chance to fight him, no questions asked. “One hundred percent. Why not? Let’s give him the opportunity to become three-division world champion. Give me the opportunity to take out a guy like Conor McGregor. New York, that would be perfect. That is the fight. I feel like he’s got to take out Michael, I take out ‘No-one-remembers-his-name’ and we’ll go from there. We’ll go to New York, MSG, let’s go! That’s the fight. We’ve got business to take care of, but that’s the fight. That’s what needs to happen and it should happen,” said Leon Edwards.

Conor McGregor is already fighting Michael Chandler in the welterweight division and Edwards seems to be wanting to have a piece of McGregor.
