Colby Covington’s political ambitions have not found favor with the fans! Covington is fresh off a loss against Leon Edwards at UFC 296. The bout was Covington’s 3rd attempt at the welterweight title and the build-up to the fight was marked with heated exchanges between the pair. ‘Chaos’ even made some questionable comments about Edwards’ deceased father which led to an altercation at a pre-fight press conference.

Despite the trash talk and antics, Covington was unable to secure a victory as Edwards cruised to a unanimous decision win on the night. But according to a recent report, Covington has now claimed that he has his eyes set on a political career after he is done fighting. However, the fans were quick to slam him in the comments with hilarious references to his career and setbacks inside the Octagon!

Colby Covington has always been outspoken about his politics in his UFC persona and is a staunch supporter of Donald Trump. As such, in a recent interview on the PBD podcast, he revealed that he wishes to transition to a career in politics after he hangs up his gloves.

He stated, “I want to get into Congress, maybe Senate, something like that. Maybe be the governor of Florida. That would be my ultimate dream is to be governor of this state.”

‘Chaos’ also confessed that even though he lost to Leon Edwards, he knows that he is “more than a fighter”. However, his aspirations haven’t sat well with the fans, who were quick to roast him in the comments for his claims!

Covington reveals he broke his foot at UFC 296  

Colby Covington, known for his outspoken nature, revealed a hidden challenge he faced during his UFC 296 bout against Leon Edwards. While he initially attributed his performance to ring rust, Covington now disclosed a foot injury sustained early in the fight. In the PBD podcast, ‘Chaos’ revealed that, “I broke my foot in like the first 30 seconds of the fight, that people don’t know about yet – the X-rays will start coming out.”

However, fearful that sharing the injury with his corner during the break between rounds would leak to the broadcast and Edwards, Covington kept it quiet. He also claimed that his inability to step on his left foot affected his overall performance leading to his unanimous decision loss.
