The 2014 Olympic Games was held in Russia and it became the most expensive Olympic games ever. Reports suggest that the estimated cost for the event ballooned to $55 billion. However, it seems the Dagestani fighter still feels that the Olympic games in Russia was much better than the one happening now. While the champion is busy criticizing the Olympic Games one his his biggest rivals Leon Edwards and his team has found a weakness in his game.
Makhachev has showed his willingness to make a move to the welterweight division next. After successfully defending his title thrice, the 32-year-old is up for a new challenge. However, it seems Dave Lovell( Edward’s coach) has found a flaw in his game.

There are very few fighters in the UFC who have had the dominance like Islam Makhachev. The Dagestani fighter till date has lost only one fight in his career and beaten some of the big names in the division. His next target is winning the welterweight title and standing in his way is Leon Edwards. Although he is yet to make any official announcement about the move coach Lovell already has a strong message for him. He sat down for an interview before his students title defense. According to the legendary coach he feels ‘Rocky’ can negate the threat of Makhachev. While he believes Makhachev is skillful size will play a huge role in the fight feel Lovell.
While speaking to ‘Submission Radio’ he said, “Islam moving up to welter[weight], would he be big enough? Would he have the same effect that he has at his weight now? I don’t think so. Has he met a sharpshooter like Leon? No, he hasn’t,”. He further pointed out as to how Edwards has faced some elite wrestlers in his career and has come out on top against them. Facing Makhachev will definitely be challenging but according to Coach Lovell the champions wrestling skills is constantly improving. The fight will be a masterclass and the fans will be eager to witness it. However, it will be interesting to see whether the fight happens or not.
