Anthony Mackie‘s comments questioning Captain America’s identity have generated a blaze of controversy, and Joe Rogan, along with Matt Serra, Brendan Schaub, and Bryan Callen, did not hold back in tearing him apart on the current JRE Fight Companion. The Captain America: Brave New World actor found himself in hot waters after proposing that the figure should represent ideals such as respect, dignity, and integrity, rather than the phrase “America” itself.
While others hailed his comments as a modern take on the Marvel hero, Joe Rogan and his companions considered it an unnecessary shift from the character’s patriotic roots. For the UFC commentator and his team on Fight Companion, Mackie’s statement was nothing short of a PR disaster for Marvel. Schaub did not spare words, sarcastically remarking, “Cool move to Ukraine.” Meanwhile, Bryan Callen called it nothing less than a PR crisis. “It was a problem. It was a PR crisis.”
Joe Rogan too felt that this remark was definitely out of place, as he speculated that actors in the industry are forced to make left-leaning comments to stay relevant. He said, “Isn’t it weird that they feel like they have to say stuff like that to keep working?” With Marvel already facing growing criticism for its recent projects, Mackie’s remarks simply added to the fire. That is why Matt Serra suggested that following a statement like that, the audience would no longer go to the theaters to see the movie.

So, it definitely looks like Anthony Mackie made a blunder here. In fact, even he knows it. Faced with the uproar created by his statement, Mackie took to his social networks to clarify his position. In an Instagram story, the actor wrote, “Let me be clear about this: I’m a proud American, and taking on the shield of a hero like [Captain America] is the honor of a lifetime. I have the utmost respect for those who serve and have served our country. [Captain America] has universal characteristics that people all over the world can relate to.”
His message aimed at calming the situation and reasserting his dedication to the character, emphasizing that he did not intend to downplay the significance of his connection to the United States. But do you know that he isn’t the only actor who made such a PR disaster? According to Joe Rogan on the same Fight Companion livestream, Dave Bautista also made a similar blunder.

Joe Rogan blasts Dave Bautista for rant on Donald Trump
While speaking about Anthony Mackie’s statements, Joe Rogan took the opportunity to also bring Dave Bautista into the mix. Why? Because the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor went on a rant against Donald Trump during the presidential election season. For the unaware, Bautista was quite critical of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. The actor made his position very clear with a couple of comments he made while training, such as uploading a video on social media, where he took the opportunity to talk about the future elections.
In the video, the future WWE Hall of Famer said, “Fellas, we gotta talk. A lot of men seem to think that Donald Trump is some kind of tough guy. He’s not. I mean, look at him; he wears more makeup than Dolly Parton. He whines like a baby. The guy is afraid of birds.” The two-time winner of the Royal Rumble also spoke about the physical deficiencies of the Republican candidate. He claimed that Donald Trump made his dad pay a doctor to say his little feet hurt and thus avoid military service. ‘Drax’ in the Marvel universe ended the video by questioning Trump’s manhood by calling him “weakling, chubby, and crying.”

However, Rogan did not take it lightly. On the Fight Companion, he laughed at Bautista for his statements as he said, “Who really f—-d up? Bautista. He went all in against Trump; remember we did that video calling him a little b—h. He did the whole thing where he’s working out, “You’re a little b—h. You little fat… you look like a bag of milk f—-n hit the bag,” doing working out f—-n looking jacked.”
Well, what do you think? Why are the actors trying to speak about the world of politics? Let us know in the comments.
